I used an example of a respected ex-player regardless of his nature, he's respected at and around the club. The use of ex-player whose held in high regard by the fans and club means the players will listen

Don't make me laugh. The players need to hold the ex-player in high regard for that to work. If they don't, they won't give a shit what the fans and club think.

And anyway, I'm not even sure that the majority of fans hold Taggert in that high regard - I would have thought that most would be like me and believe that he was a pretty limited player whose effort and enthusiasm carried him through. What the Club think of him is even more doubtful - do they really enjoy him slagging them off on the radio? - is that the kind of thing that would cause them to hold him in high regard?

What do you really think he has got to offer the attack in the way of hints on how to improve their game? What do you really think he has got to offer the midfield? OK, he may be able to help our over-worked defence - but that has not really been our main problem over the last weeks, has it?

Taggert is a washed-up professional - well suited to his new role of criticising from afar. Only his agent and you think otherwise. Come to think of it, has anybody ever seen Taggert's agent and Hazzman in the same room together?

Who would you consider to be in the frame if Kelly was sacked? Miller and Stowell seem far too chumy, it would go down to 2 options, the Youth duo or Taggert?!?

He won't be sacked before the end of the season. I really don't think he will be.

If he is then feck knows, maybe MM takes the role.

There isn't anyone and thats why he is still here

According to the Splitters forum, MM is in crisis talks with the management team and that there will be changes from today, however no indication of what those changes will be.

1. The equation that a good player makes a good coach is never true. So why would a limited player being a limited coach. He's managed to keep face over his radio commentary, rarely singling out players and officials for criticism, if they it's normally deserved and that would see the player dropped if Taggart was in charge. Maybury has been on his players he felt the need to criticise and it's too harsh to say he's worthy of a dropping.

2. That's way he'd bring in an experience person alongside him to help on the coaching of midfield and attack. The defence being good is a bit of enigma, yes they are good in the air but marking wise and players running against them shocking. Taggart maybe be able to help to the very blunt area of set pieces which are all-important in this division and predictment.

3. The last paragraphy underneed and undercalled. My suggestion of Taggart as caretaker worked on the assumption that Kelly would be sacked. Who would you have in a caretaker role? If there was a man more suited to the job at the club, I would suggest him. To say it's just me who thinks Taggart is worthy of a pop at caretaking is silly, when clear in this thread Alex and A-Z initially supported the idea.

That theory worked well when we appointed Frank McLintock....

Also, wouldn't it be worth getting a new bloke in, be it Taggart or otherwise, have the benefit of "new manager syndrome". You see it time and time again, teams usually benefit from a change in manager, and getting rid of someone as inept as Kelly would certainly breathe new life into the club. We could do with a winning streak about now eh?

I just hope that MM has not already told Kelly that he is going (and several players) as that would be hard for them to deal with - especially the young age of some and the uncertainty that would create for the loan players and those heading out of contract.

Maybe I am reading too much into Kisnorbo's Mockery comments and MM would not be so stupid - we are probably just shite!

I think it's possible that even the thickest of the bunch might have worked it out for themselves.

If, let's say, Kelly and Stowell get the boot tomorrow, then some fecker's going to have to take charge. If MM hasn't already got someone lined up then it will end up being someone like Taggart or Rudkin until the end of the season. Or MM himself?

None of which is very pretty, but it's true.

Well obvioulsy Sanchez would have done the job had we asked

Fecked up there big time

Coleman as Number 1 with Gerry as assistant untill the end of the season at least

Sod Gerry off, which pair of cnuts thought that? Coleman all the way.....Mckinlay back too.

Coleman may have been at Blackburn at the same time as Kelly was there as a coach , so there could be a link and an opportunity for Kelly to continue in some role, just a thought.
