I would have been seething if a major player had got injured, however we were spared. Will you be jumping up and down at wembely if we finish 7th in the league?????

Hang-on fourking, IF we get to wembley in this cup, it will be WAY before we know where we'll finish in the league.

So, YEAH of course we'd be jumping up and down if we got to wembley!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When is the final? Because I want to make sure I keep that weekend free ;) Assuming it is on a weekend of course... with how second-rate this cup is, I wouldn't be all that suprised if it was a midweek game?

Noticed today, that for the first time this season the bookies have now installed us as favourites to win the league, pushing Leeds down to 2nd favourites (although to be honest, after their start I'm suprised the odds are still that short for them)

For a lot of the first half it looked as though it could become a nightmare. Well on top in the first ten minutes but then we lost it and could easily have conceded.

Second half was a completely different story. ...

This was the same on Saturday. We're going great, but that wandering, disappearing midfield still showed for a while first half then. Maybe teacups were rattled (rather than thrown) at half time, I don't know, but we came out and killed it off proper in the second both times. Quality half time management?

Agreed, but to be fair it was also the same against Tranmere in the first half. The difference is that we always look like we've got goals in us - pace down the wings and good movement up front, with a reasonably solid defence. Some teams are going to have good spells against us, but I'm confident we can come back. Although we lost at Fulham in the last few minutes, it wasn't the typical nervy last 10 minutes, we still were playing football.

But we had a solid defence last season! I think then, as signs are now, that we fall asleep in midfield. Clemence is an 'okay' midfielder, but a terrible captain, this is why the season was lost (IMO) and why we are where we are. Oakley seems to handle the captaincy okay, as does Howard, but concentration on leading and playing requires a different talent, and frankly, Clemence doesn't have it.

Against Tranmere it was Andy King that went wandering. The ball span around him from wing to wing, he seemed almost paralysed when it centred upon him. He'll get there, and a better player he'll make; hopefully Chris Powell can bring some direct experience in his earhole!

First half was cack.
Second half was better.
Their away stand had 9 rows of seats.
We had a local in our end dressed up in blouse and skirt.
Jeff Winter was there(meeting up with Peter Jones)
It was cold.
There's a big wooden ship near the museum.
It was cold.

I was back home for just after 11.30pm.:icon_bigg

I'll be home just after 10 this morning. Just leaving Victoria Coach Station now.

P.S. It wasn't cold - even in shorts.

The goals are on Bentleys Roof btw, 3 very well worked goals again. I know DJ needs to start scoring but he played an important part in both the second and third goals.

Fair play to DJ, setup 1 and selflessly squared for another.

Agreed. He needs a goal now to help his confidence.

Also a great driving run by Wesolowski for the final goal. Sounds like he had a very good game. Lets hope he can get back to the player his early promise showed.

Well done DJ and Weso :038:

Didn't give a Monkeys about the Result beforehand and it would be hypocritical for me to give one now even if we won.A Joke Competition.

Much respect to those hardy souls who went last night, bugger of a journey midweek. Well done to the team too, confidence must be high and building.
