Reportedly he's about to sign a new deal earning him £400k per year!

I would imagine that deal would make him the highest paid manager in this league.

What a very British attitude: we are reportedly close to an exciting new signing and, rather than looking forward to Leicester becoming a force in the Championship once more, we are discussing a rumour that appears to have absolutely no substance but is reassuringly negative! :102:

:icon_bigg bookies have stopped taking bets that strachan is to be boros new boss

Pearson was always going to be linked with the 'Boro job given his history with the club and the successes with us. I think we can all relax with this one anyway seeing as Strachan looks nailed on for this one.

Let's just look forward to a potentially very exciting signing and the next game...

Strachan has said he would like to have nige as his number two.

You heard it here first.

And i imagine it will be last we hear of it.

He is in fact an old signing 36 years old. If he was 26 he would be an exciting signing.
As for Pearson he will only be wanted by other clubs if we are successful. Hopefully we will get used to NP being wanted by other clubs the way that Martin O'Neill was.

theyll be sniffing out other potential managers and to see if chairmen/managers take the bait if not strachan will still get the job

no doubt pearson will be asked about this job at his next press conference would be nice to hear him say he is happy to stay etc - even though it doesnt always go that way :icon_bigg

I'm now happy: http://www.gazettelive.co.uk/boro-f...han-on-course-to-manage-boro-84229-24998977/#

GORDON Strachan is on course to take charge of Boro on Monday.

Fans who may be concerned that the deal to bring the former Celtic boss to Teesside hasn’t as yet been completed can rest assured that there’s no reason to suppose the appointment won’t go ahead.

Boro have declined to comment on speculation linking Strachan with the club’s vacant hotseat.

But the Gazette understands that the deal has been verbally agreed, that there have been no last minute hitches and that it’s simply taking longer than anticipated to tie up all the loose ends.

Strachan is expected to travel up from his Hampshire home on Sunday night or Monday morning to sign on the dotted line.

In the meantime, he will spend the weekend watching the DVD footage of Boro’s recent performances that he’s been sent and formulating training plans so that he’s ready to hit the ground running next week.

All parties are keen to make sure the excitement surrounding the appointment doesn’t derail Boro’s preparation for the game at Preston.

Strachan’s loyal No 2 Gary Pendry is expected to be a low profile presence in the Deepdale crowd tomorrow, but he will have no input either before or immediately after the match.

The question all you doubters need to ask is WHY would NP want to leave us, boro certainly aint a reason.

There is no reason, so he wont go. When there is a reason we will probably know about it before he does, so calm down.

Any comments by Pearson about it will be influenced by his agent who is in the process of negotiating a new contract. The more he is paid the better as this will make other offers less tempting. If Wellens is worth £1 million and high wages (and he is well worth it) then Nigel is worth far more.
One further point. Milan used four managers the season we went down. This lack of stability was one of a number of reasons for our relegation and it made Milan look a bit of a joke. He will not want to lose another one especially a manager who has the backing of most of the fans.
