Skysports.com can reveal Paul Henderson has agreed a contract to stay at Leicester City until 2009.

Henderson's future at The Walkers Stadium had been uncertain and he had been linked with Premiership duo Aston Villa and Wigan Athletic.

But the goalkeeper has allayed any fears that he could be on the move in January after accepting a two-and-a-half year deal.

The Australian's agent Peter Harrison confirmed the keeper was happy to pledge his future to the Championship club.

"He is delighted to be staying," Harrison told skysports.com.

"He has proven himself at Leicester.

"Despite the interest from other clubs, he is very happy to commit his future to Leicester."

Henderson joined The Foxes from Bradford City in 2005 and he is currently Rob Kelly's first choice between the posts.

How can you keep a goalie that cant even catch a cross :(

But Rob is such a nice man, oh and by the way he is a great coach or maybe it's Dowie that rates Hendo so highly :icon_wink

Despite his faults, he is a decent keeper - and he is better than the other two put together

Great news IMO

In an ideal world we would have a new Goalkeeper and kick the other three into touch.

He will do us for the rest of this season though and then he will be a great reserve keeper.

His contract was too short for us to sell him

Good as back up or sell him later

(or he does a Douglas)

Yup, but in the circumstances, I'd rather have Henderson than Douglas, and we could certainly do worse than Hendo.

Unless you're lucky enough to have had a good keeper come through your academy and stay at the club, or been relegated with a decent keeper, then all keepers in this league are going to have their faults. Hendo's a good shot stopper and while not perfect, I don't think we could get much better.

All this praise until he drops the ball at a Birmingham players feet and then everyone will want him out!
