Heskey would be a good addition to our squad.
Agreed, I'd be happy with Heskey back for next season's championship campaign, but I'm certainly not gagging for it to happen, nor would I be disappointed if it didn't.

Lennon is dead

Rumour has it Junior Lewis has squandered his ill gotten small fortune on lengthening regular trousers to fit his freakish legs and is looking for another contract....

I've heard Teddy's off to Melbourne in the summer anyway, but still - no thanks.

I'd take a corpse over Elvis Hammond at the end of the day, but my point is that in the summer we're going to have a bit more cash to invest in better prospects that Teddy, who is almost certainly going to retire after this season or next.

True true. But then again, he would bang em in. Look at Sir Les, he was getting on in his years, but smashed em in with gusto. A swan-song from the effervescant Teddy? Would certainly see us in the upper reaches from the table.

That's a fair point I suppose, especially seeing as he can still just about cut it in the prem as well, I just want to see a bit more ambition from the club really.

heskey - yes, would perform great for this club but would not be beneficial after his playing days
lennon - yes, would be an asset on the pitch, would be a future coach/manager

i dont see it as a step backwards having these two lads in the squad. i bet if muzzy was still playing most would have him back in a heartbeat.

5.5 million Wigan paid for him. I cant imagine theyd accept much lower then £4million for him. Id like it if he came, cant see it happening though!!

heskey is not worth anything near 4mill. FACT!

Funny thing about Hammond on Saturday at Southend, he'll actually looked exciting and dangerous, useful.

Maybe, it's just me with the sea air affecting my view.

Lots of great players from the MON era, but that was then and this is now. There's only one player that I'd take now from that era (if he could still play), and that's Muzzy. Yes, Bruno and Lennie were great in their time, but I'd rather remember them as just that rather than screaming at them cos they're crap now or too slow or whatever. You can't go back, it's only onwards and upwards.

Let's leave the legends where they are rather than relegate them in our memories.
