Thats the problem though, we need someone that the club can actually identify with and the only thing close in recent times is Joey, sad as that is. We need someone to either come through the ranks, or sign relatively young and actually help carve the clubs future, ala Muzzys goal at Watford. And the real stickler is the fact that I can't see anyone arriving in the next few years to fit those boots. Hume, perhaps......just perhaps.

Let's face it. Heskey is ten times the player that Horsfield or Hume and Fryatt have ever been and would dominate the championship. also he'd work his arse of an probably be captain.
Lennon would be assistant coach and wouldn't give the ball away.
they would be the basis on which to build kisnorbo, culina, mcauley, porter, weso, hume, etc into a side that would make the playoffs automatics.
let's get some romance back into the club.
not backwards, but resurrecting some spirit.
Mandaric is all about spirit, with some shit hot africans and cheap miscellaneous players thrown in.

and quote me on that.
shit hot africans, miscellaneous foreign players. and some old time leicester favourites.
it's going to happen.

So you know for a fact we are signing Culina then? And you also know for a fact we are signing some "shit hot africans"? When are Didier Drogba, Michael Essien, Samuel Eto'o, Geremi, Kolo Toure, Emmanuel Eboue, Benni McCarthy, Shabani Nonda, Fredi Kanoute etc etc joining us then?

They are just around the corner

Heskey would tear this league to bits dont understnad the negativity. Will he come here though? Very much doubt it before his legs have gone ala Dion Dublin.

i think the negativity come from us due to the fact we are a young team that needs an old head in the team but Heskey is a bit too old for us IMO maybe he would be good for next season but carnt see it happening

I don't want to see Emile come back and be disappointing, as I think he would be. Better to invest in a slightly younger forward who has a real hunger for goals.

Whatever Heskey once had is long gone. Please god no.

Can we stop living in the past.:102:

Heskey would be mint at this level. Not sure about Lennon though.

i want us to try and get leon best

Me too i think he is really underated by souuthampton. I think we need two or three strikers in the summer as Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuume wont score anymore then fifteen a season, Horsfield is ok but maybe not the man to lead our charge and de Vries and Fryatt are not good enough. Hammond should be used more as a midfielder/winger. Best, Heskey and Sutton would do nicely :)

Sutton is currently half-blind.

Heskey never has been an out and out goal scorer, and he never will. And that is what we need. A proper striker, like todorov. Horsfield is ok as a target man to give us that option, and he holds it up and lays it off well, just look at the link up play with levi so far.

We've got money now for christ sake. You remember what happened last time we had money? We blew 5m of it on a striker that was pish. Manderic wouldn't touch him with a very long barge pole. Fact.

Heskey won't come back cause we wouldn't pay his wages.

If he did he would be the best striker in the division not goal scoring perhaps but all round.

He is ten times the player Horsefield has ever been, hundreds of times better than Leon Best and any other striker owned by clubs in this division.

And he's still the right side of 30.
