I am sad: not because I think that Holloway was God's answer to football management, but because this will almost certainly be a disadvantage in our attempt to return to the championship at the first time of asking.
Unless Milan has a proven manager lined up and ready to walk into the club within the next few days, I would think that the uncertainty will make up the minds of any of our stars facing offers from other clubs. I would guess that despite MM's message the other day that we would not be bringing in heaps of new players, we are in for considerable change - and not with the club's choice of players to leave.
Of course, the big question is, "Will the new man be given the full pre-season, or will we need another manager in July?"

Well, most people on here have what they have so craved. And, should the replacement be right, I think season tickets should start selling better......

But here we go again. What players like Clem and DJ must be thinking about this club, never mind Hume and Kisnorbo! We're now a 3rd Division club, with no manager and a totally overpaid and under-performing squad, good luck to the next man in....I think you'll need it.

Magic news

Season ticket here I come

Plus I can put some feckin' clothes on :038::038::038:

It's just wonderful

Well Hume will be delighted.......

amen!

Well the fans have the blood they craved after relegation. Let's hope we aren't still paying for it in 1,2,3 years time.

Really?

A lot of us wanted this in Feb/March. It has nothing to do with relegation for me. If he had gone when I hoped, I'm sure we would never have been relegated in the first place.

I hope he wasn't sacked as punishment for relegation, I hope he was sacked because he's not very good.

Perhaps it is that he isn't very good. Perhaps also he was one in a long line of very capable managers who will succeed anywhere apart from here, which is a worry for the next man.

I don't think anybody on this forum can be credited with having any influence.

I would have worded it. "I see most of the knowledgeable people on this forum predicted that Holloway was never good enough"

Too right. :038: MM has at last woken up to the dog and pony show that is Holloway.

For the record I was anti Holloway from the start. All MM needs to do now is hand the job of picking the next Manager to someone we can all trust.

I dont personally see how it can be viewed as anything other than a punishment for relegation.

Well Mandaric had stuck by him up until that point.
And he's stuck by him for the few weeks since. But it seems Holloway was given every chance to prove his worth for next season in a series of meetings in which he could present his plans and ideas.

I guess he failed.

Like Rob Kelly you mean?

I think your post can best be described as 'anti-truth'.

We haven't had anything approaching a "capable" manager since Mick Adams - and Adams fell apart and stopped being capable under the various pressures that affected the club - La Manga, narrowly failing to avoid relegation the second time around etc. Megson knows what he's about but wasn't around long enough to be judged.

But Holloway - it hits you in the face that this man is a lower division manager and he ain't never going to be more than that. When we were relegated there was a real danger that since we were now third tier we might as well have a third tier manager - but happily Mandaric has dealt with the matter.

Holloway is dealt with - the biggest remaining problem is the attitude of the players which has been more than a disgrace. They have taken us to a completely unnecessary relegation and Holloway wasn't good enough to stop them. Whoever is brought in now needs to be tough - and needs assurance from Mandaric that the players' bad attitude will be sorted even if that means it takes a bit of time.

I think the timing of this suggests that season ticket sales weren't going particularly well.....

Mixed emotions for me really. Sad that it has come to this but glad that IH has gone. I think there just too many problems at the Club when he joined for him to overcome, and he didn't have tha ability as a mangager to cope. Lets hope the new man does not face all of the same problems.
