I wonder if you would be able to spell out exactly what alternatives there were to the Mandaric takeover.

I appreciate that it may take some time for you to come up with a response on this one, so I won't be holding my breath!

It hasn't really taken a long time - I've only just read your post.

I can't ",spell out exactly", but there were options. The tigers deal for one (not something I or many others would have welcomed, but it was real enough and would have provided breathing space). I also know that there were a few people around who were freeing up assets with a view to joining consortia. As soon as the MM demand for exclusivity came up they melted away again.

There were, to my knowledge, two american consortia looking round for bargain buys ( I recall one "insider" said on here at the time that one of them was expressing interest in LCFC, but I have no idea if that was true or not). Ipswich were snapped up soon after as you will recall.

All of which led me to believe that there were other possibilities around.

I think I used this analogy at the time (though I may have thought better of it!!): If you have been standing at a bus stop for half an hour in the freezing rain waiting for a bus to Loughborough and a nice warm bus to Coalville turns up, it may be mighty tempting to climb aboard, but there is good reason to believe that you might soon come to regret it.

But all this is now history. As someone dear to our hearts might say "We are where we are"

You never change your mind? You never find yourself at the front of the queue in McDonalds going "I'll have a cheese quarter poun...oooh no, hang on, I'll have the filet o' fish. Sorry"?

Me? I reckon the ability to take on board new facts and reguage your position on issues is quite an important asset in the sentient.

As a spotty kid I was well into revolutionary socialism whereas now I understand it to be a pile of cock. This does not mean I jumped onto a CallmeDave bandwagon.

When Mandaric came I hoped we would see the best bits of him and not a repeat of his earlier mistakes, I hoped he had learned from the past and that we were going to have a good future. I no longer believe he offers us a good future based on his time here.

When we signed two players from Derby who had achieved promotion and were accompanied by wails from distraught Derby fans I though 'fab!' and 'great!' and 'here we bloody well go!'

Amazingly enough no bandwagon has gone by my front door - I watched the tossers play football, I made my mind up based on experience.

Finally, when it came to Holloway I refused to rant and rage upon relegation - I wanted him to stay but watching him totally undermined by Mandaric, compounding the other issues surrounding him.has left his position untenable.

Funnily enough HM, I don't think I am alone in thinking through issues.

Great work Disco Dad, although I really would sooner eat shit than eat McDonalds. No, really.

Thanks - I thought the Tigers deal was an excellent idea. I just can't see the sense in having two stadia which are used so occasionally. However, I realise that there are too many prejudices around to make this easily possible.

Soon to look like an even more stupid decision when Tigers' average crowd goes past ours in a few years.

I can't agree.

He doesn't regain confidence in him by performing a negative act, which sacking someone is. He does it through positive, decisive action that then pans out to be correct. His history since taking over the club is incredibly poor in this respect and thereby leads one to assume that nothing will change in the future.

To my mind, if he sacks Holloway he will simply replace him with a ****nut. An expensive ****nut.

More than sacking Holloway, I'd appreciate Mandaric selling the club to someone who gives a f*ck and has the first clue about how to run a club.

any suggestions? dont suggest the last lot please. As I understand it noone local wanted the responsibility which is why MM is here now. Seems there is people who would want to be chairman but not open their wallet as well.

You are more foolish than Didier Drogba comically slapping Vidic. The double cheeseburger is what my arteries were invented for.

Nope. None. How can I have? We are talking meglomaniac idiots with too much money who want to run football clubs, and there aren't many of them who come to drink cider and smoke crack in my squat.

My point is that there is more to being a chairman than "opening a wallet". I still contend Mandaric has not done that but simply increased the debt on the club with piss all to show for it.

If Bernie fancies a go he has my full support.

Not massively, yet. So far he's mostly pissed away his own money.

I agree with the merits of been a chairman isnt just about money. MM is a poor judge of manager so my ideal situation would be is if he stays as owner but steps down as chairman or at the very least delegates the manager appointment role to someone else. Martin George I would welcome back with open arms but for whatever reason he hasnt came back, did he get blocked out by the old board at some point?

Well we have now had the two 4.5million injections, there is no more of those to come so I expect next year is when the lending would be starting in full throttle. Of course he may simply choose to directly pump cash in but now we have been relegated its more likely he will be tight.
