Re: Hollaway's Transfer Targets

Damn - by using non-PC terms in place of Native Americans and Romany Travellers I have probably extended our (as good as) goal drought for another twenty two years.

GREAT!!! Someone to blame. Stand by for a host of brickbats next time we lose at home: i.e. next home game.

Re: Hollaway's Transfer Targets

I have a sneaky feeling that the Walkers was built on a disused Red Indian possesed-by-evil-spirits animal burial ground that had been cursed by Gispies and home to a million broken mirrors.

To be honest, DB, I've never heard anyone complain about calling people Gispies - so I think you're safe

Ah, you're right. I was confusing the term 'Gypsies' with the phrase 'dirty thieving Gypo bastards'.

I find the 21st Century very confusing.

Re: Hollaway's Transfer Targets

We don't have Gypsies in Oz, I do miss the sight of those caravans they used to have. I guess the closest equivalent would be our aborigines. No caravans though. And a didgeridoo just doesn't sound the same as a fiddle by the flickering campfire.

They don't have campfires anymore lad, definitely still on the fiddle though

Re: Hollaway's Transfer Targets

the title of this thread is very misleading, it should be "transcript of Talksport, when they're not talking about sport"

I know it's gone way off thread, but that was funny. :023: Nearly swallowed my teacup.

Re: Hollaway's Transfer Targets

Holloway said he spoke to Roy Keane. (from lcfc world video), possibility of Connorly/Fulop :102:

Re: Hollaway's Transfer Targets

I think Fosseman is quite right! MM is not that knowlegable, look at the donkey's he's signed (yes MM not MA). Leave managing to managers. Until Harry came along he didn't exactly pull up any trees at Portsmouth did he, and he nearly cocked that up with his know it all attitude until he ate humble pie and got Harry back. How many Portsmouth fans, albeit grateful, warned us that we were in for a roller coaster ride? It's all getting a bit dull and predictable now this MM roadshow.

Regards.

Re: Hollaway's Transfer Targets

McLean is no better than any other striker we got....he's a poacher...which is fine in a team which are a superb attacking force in League 1 - but he's no different to Campbell.
Agreed, although McLean has scored loads of goals this season so he does at least know where the goal is (our current strikers apparently have no clue and haven't for a long time). But he's yet another short arse....

Howard - yes please, ideal for us at the moment.

:018:No more midgets please.:018:

Howard - yes please, ideal for us at the moment.

I saw him play a few weeks back. Wandered aimlesly around, slow to the ball, poor first touch, generally ineffectual. looks in need of major re-motivation

Would fit in well.

Agreed. His strike partner Macail-Smith is a much better player...if a little raw

Good for this division, however no further.

Re: Hollaway's Transfer Targets

Yesterday I said I doubted if MM would actually splash the cash. Today we are told QPR will spend heavily and therefore prevent us from signing out preferred options. That's the excuse all prepared then!

Re: Hollaway's Transfer Targets

well according to mm he is gonna back holloway in the transfer market and hopes to bring in upto 5 new players...whether he will be splashing the cash for those or using money from player sales who knows??

There is no excuse that would be acceptable this time around. Milan finds a way or there will be many very grumpy people in the New Year.

In fact, the Grumpy Institute has outlined graphs which clearly show the likelihood of a 73% rise in grumpiness with the possibility of serious outbreaks of ennui.

Re: Hollaway's Transfer Targets

I understand He is looking to bring in an experienced defensive duo - david Weir and Brazilian ex- Celtic player Rafael Scheidt.

The outfield team sheet would then begin

Wier
Scheidt

Then any 8 from 40.
