Re: Hollaway's Transfer Targets

I understand He is looking to bring in an experienced defensive duo - david Weir and Brazilian ex- Celtic player Rafael Scheidt.

The outfield team sheet would then begin

Wier
Scheidt

Were you up all night thinking that one up ? I'd have got some kip if I were you:)

Up most of the night, but not thinking that up (I won't go into what was coming up). It just emerged from my fevered brain.

Seemed rather good at the time, I thought :icon_cry:

Re: Hollaway's Transfer Targets

Aberdeen's Lee Miller could set for a move to the Championship with Crystal Palace, Leicester and Preston all following the striker.
Miller is out of contract in the summer and the player's agent Mark Donaghy will meet with Willie Miller and manager Jimmy Calderwood to talk over an extension.

However, Aberdeen will now face stiff competition following the player's form in both the SPL and in the UEFA Cup.

He's one striker we don't need. He's 6'2" but hardly what you'd call prolific. Did nothing at Bristol, who paid too much for him. No thanks. :icon_roll

Re: Hollaway's Transfer Targets

Birmingham midfielder Neil Danns is set to seal a £250,000 transfer to Nottingham Forest. (Mirror)

One that looks like getting away :102:

He'd have played with Clemence already, being at Birmingham. Strange thing is the transfer fee is half of what City paid for him to move from Colchester. He's obviously gone down in value according to City. Not a good sign usually. He looks a decent midfielder for this division though.

Re: Hollaway's Transfer Targets

we should put a sneaky bid in to try to get him here. he's easily good enough for this division.

Re: Hollaway's Transfer Targets

Perhaps he's not the player he's cracked up to be and Clem knows it?

Re: Hollaway's Transfer Targets

I find it ironic he complained of his best players been sold at plymouth but we unable to grab who he wants now because they refusing to sell.

Do you not think that possibly Plymouth would sell to anyone else, but even they fear the backlash of their best players following Ollie? - Just a posibility

Clem has been quoted as saying we have some good players here, so if we're relying on his judgement, we're screwed!

Re: Hollaway's Transfer Targets

Ollie: "The chairman, Milan Mandaric, has given me a good amount of money to spend. I am not saying exactly how much, obviously. But, for this level, it is a good amount, even good for the level up from us.
I am not going to waste it, but be sensible and get value for money. Then we can really move onwards and upwards."

I wonder how much... and who it's being borrowed from!!??

On a slightly associated point - one of the papers was reporting in the week that there was an AGM at City and Milan didn't show as he was away on other business which pissed some of the others off as they had wanted to ask about payments to that Barry Silkman agent.

He owns the club, so who he pays has nothing to do with anyone else. Sounds like old board members trying to muddy his name even more (not that he needs much help).

Re: Hollaway's Transfer Targets

Bolton will finalise a deal for Israel midfielder Tamir Cohen when the January transfer window opens. (Daily Mail)

Looks like the ginger one has won that one...

Re: Hollaway's Transfer Targets

If he's fit, surely that Scot Sinclair from Chelsea must be a loan opportunity. The right position (i.e. forward who is equally effective wide), good background with IH following loan spell at Plymuff last season.

2 + 2 = ?

From hints from IH, I'm hoping for Fulop (£750k) and Kavanagh (nominal) from Sunderland.

After that, he needs to find wide midfielders from somewhere. Potentially Lee Martin on the left on a loan from Man Utd as he is very highly regarded by IH and his loan at Plymuff expires on Jan 1st?

Add to that a decent £1m right winger and we might start to look at bit more exciting.

Re: Hollaway's Transfer Targets

This might be a bit optimistic but Matt Taylor at Portsmouth is class and he hasn't been in the picture much this season down there. Perhaps with the Redknapp connection we could get him on loan?

possible? would Taylor want to come and join our relegation battle? I think i know the answer.
