Sky Sports said:Winger could leave Villa
Aston Villa will reportedly allow Peter Whittingham to leave the club, with Nottingham Forest leading the chase.
Whittingham has struggled to establish himself under David O'Leary at Villa Park and made just four appearances last season.
He also spent two months on loan at Derby County and looks likely to be dropping out of The Premiership before the start of the new season.
Reports suggest O'Leary will sanction the 21-year-old's exit for a fee of £500,000 which has alerted three clubs.
Forest are purportedly prepared to put down an initial £300,000 for the winger, with the remainder made up in appearances.
But Whittingham is understood to be reluctant to drop down to League One and that could lead to offers from Sunderland and Wolves.
Both Championship clubs are thought to be watching Whittingham's situation, but the lack of a manager at either side means any interest is on hold.
Hazzman said:Not a bad idea, MHS. Midlands Club and a left winger. Young lad aswell who would fit in the team nicely.
Mike Hunt Smells said:Exactly. I think we need a natural left winger. He would be more than good enough.
If it doesn't fit the rumours thread then please put all your shite "What about Billy Shitpants, he's just been released / could do a job type cobblers......" in here
Thank you
Skysports.com understands Carlisle's Karl Hawley has turned down the club's offer of a new deal.
The League One outfit offered Hawley, who is out of contract in the summer, a new deal to stay at Brunton Park.
However, Hawley has snubbed the offer and looks set to leave the club on a free transfer this summer.
The news has alerted a number of Championship clubs who are keen to sign the prolific striker.
Preston are thought to be interested in Hawley with former Carlisle boss Paul Simpson a big admirer of the striker.
With Hawley being available on a free transfer he is an attractive proposition for a number of clubs and Leicester, Plymouth, Stoke, Ipswich, Bristol City and Nottingham Forest are all thought to be monitoring Hawley's situation
how the **** are we monitoring anyone, we dont have a ****ing manger.
Worthington is still there
are you sure, he had a 5 game contract, thats finished now
Rumour mill has rubbed together it's way of wonders to reveal that Hawley is replacing Nugent at Preston.
if he is going to replace Nugent at preston means he has some talent, that is a big role as Nugent is a great forward. We should get him in at city
It's not literally. Nugent will go Premiership....Simpson gets Hawley from his old club, Agyemang does the donkey work.
