'Requesting' songs from a DJ is a guaranteed way to piss him off.
Unless it you're at a family do with a mobile DJ, don't do it. Just don't do it.

I was with someone who once requested Sultans of Swing by Dire straits, I couldn't believe it when the DJ played it, I was surprised he even had it.
It cleared the dance floor within seconds.
