I put in an order for a jumper with my Mum. "Just make me a jumper for Xmas" I said, "no need to buy anything".
This was meant to be a decent plan, she used to make excellent jumpers - plus she still had tons of wool left over from when my Grandad ran a massive wool company in Leicester. She wouldn't have to pay anything and I'd get something warm for Xmas.
"What colour do you want?"
Fancying something different from the shelves of blackness, I asked for something a bit hippy-like. Something like this:
It's not to everyone's taste, I know, but it'd suit me down to the ground. No the football ground, obviously - I'd get the shit kicked out of me for wearing something like that.
Only Xmas came and went.
Oh well, the poor old dear has probably forgotten all about it, I thought.
No such ****ing luck. It arrived today.
If a jumper could have been made by a blind, deaf mentally-challenged kid using chopsticks and following the pattern for a mid-80s football strip...
