If I drive down it costs £250 in petrol ...

£250??

That will buy you about 55 gallons of petrol.

Aberdeen to Leicester and back - about 950 miles.

That's only 17 miles to the gallon. wtf you driving??

Spot on Purplehaze, we as fans must take a long hard look in the mirror, there has been a lot of criticism levelled at both the management and players as regards the performances and results, and whilst overall they have not been good enough, have we as fans made a positive or negative contribution to this seasons efforts.

IMO opinion, we are too negative, under Adams we complained of the hoofball style and a lack of younger players at the club, when CL came in it was a long term plan and we all seemed fairly positive with what he was trying to achieve, also in the summer people were fairly confident progress was being made. We started the season playing some excellent football, but this lead to us conceding a fair few goals and dropping points, cue the first murmurings of disatisafication, CL then tries to steady the ship by making us a little more robust but by sacrificing some of the open style we had adopted in the early games, cue more disatisfaction that we had now resorted back to the hoof.

Rival managers must now target stifling us at home knowing that after 15 minutes the crowd will become restless and start to become impaitent, this then transposes back to the players who then become scared of making mistakes, it is a vicious circle. Already players like Kisnorbo, who has only just returned after a lenghty lay off, McCarthy, who is now being questioned for being reckless - reminds me of a young Walsh, Gilbert, who already has been written off as a no hoper, are being identified as the next batch of scapegoats.

We must become the 12th man, get behind the team and start turning defeats into draws, and draws into victories, we can help by supporting and encouraging the team throughout the whole 90 minutes, this will lift the team and definately improve performance. Lets make the Walkers an intimidating place to come. Win, lose or draw, tonight lets get the spirit back into Leicester and lets get behind the team right the way through the rest of the season. Lets make all the other teams in this division be envious of our loyal support.

Couldn't agree more, but it will fall on alot of deaf ears.
It is a chicken and egg scenario, you get the moaners who 'pay there money to watch this shite and entitled to have a moan because of it'. Why bother going then?? force out another manager and the downward spiral becomes a bit steeper. If alot of these actually carried out there threat of never going again the atmosphere would probably improve, but then the problem of low gates:102: .
The Walkers is never going to be like Filbo ever was, even on the good days/nights when it seems to be rocking (Forest 1-0 comes to mind) it is still lacking.:icon_sad:

Tonight's game is massive for us, biggest in a long time and easily the biggest in Levein's time here. If we lose or put in a crap performance for a draw I can see it kicking off big time. I fear for the stability of the club with the wrong result tonight.

the only thing i fear ( apart from us losing which wont happen ;) ) about tonight is if we go a goal down early and idiots starts getting on their backs :102:

Used to drive a 3 litre Range Rover Boc. I tended to do about 1200 miles with some driving when down in Leics. I now drive a 2.5 litre X-type Jag, so probably cost nearer £200 in petrol in future.

the poll should be how many more threads will contain this same message in different guises :102:
actually lazzer the point of this thread is so people can vote on the amount of time they want to give levein, not just discuss it:)

I'd give him this season and then til New YEar next to be honest as a minimum but then I think a young team needs more than a season to play together and start to play at its peak.

Some seem to think 12 games is enough.

Entirely rational Dunc - but unfortunately football isn't like that, is it?

If things haven't improved somewhat before all the leaves fall ...............

I would give him as long as it takes to get it right because i dont think there is anyone any better who is available although sadly i dont think the board will see it that way if attendances keep falling, remember crystal palace were 18th on january the 1st in the season they were last promoted

please accept my apologies everyone i have been posting for a couple of weeks now and have not said hello, so hello everybody

Personally, I want Levein to stay, see the job through and leads us back to the promised land.

But invariably when all these sack him, dont sack him or win the next game to save his job, then your mind does tend to wander and you start to think who could replace him. Now again I will stress that I am firmly supporting Levein and I still want him to be managing Leicester City for the foreseeable future, but I am concerned that the fickle boneheads may just get their way over the coming weeks.

Now I know I am going to get some awful stick for this suggestion, but please read through my reasons as to why I suggest this man, if we ever have to replace CL. My suggestion is Mark McGhee...cue hideous abuse.

1) The guy has been big enough to admit he made a massive mistake, I hated him as much as anyone when he walked out. IMO he would be only one of a handful of managers who would walk to Leicester to take the managers job.

2) His teams play good entertaining football, he did overplay at times when manager of Leicester, but he seems to have refined his tactics over time.

3) He has a tremendous eye for a player, some of his signings at Leicester were excellent and after watching Tuesday night's game, I was very impressed with some of is new signings.

4) Not afraid to play youngsters, there were a number of very young players in the Brighton side, they played with expression and freedom and showed a fair amount of resilience.

5) If CL did move on, appointing McGhee would be IMO the best way of maintaining some form of stability, he has experience of managing at this level, would no doubt relish working with a squad possessing such talent, and it is without argument that he has "unfinished business" at LCFC.

Now before people get the wrong idea, and think I am scaremongering, they could not be further from the truth, it is just that having witnessed the last 2 games and the reaction of supporters at the games, on the radio and on these forums, unless there is a rapid upturn in our fortunes then I have a real fear CL will be driven from our club. This is really just a feeler for people's opinions and as to whether the fans would accept McGhee back if this were to ever be a possibility.
