Judge Francis Gilbert QC rejected the claim. Sentencing Pearce, he said: "She knew exactly what she was doing and this was utterly disgusting and depraved.

The judge said he would have immediately sent her to prison were it not for the fact of her age and that she had to care for her husband.

How does that work then? Gets a suspended sentence rather than a proper prison sentence due to her age, and probably due to the fact that she is female. Surely it shouldn't matter what age/sex/race you are when it comes to crime, everyone should be punished the same surely? Discrimination at its very best.
