I seem to remember Stringer saying it was Zayatte the prat on the floor. Stringer was moaning about how the stretcher was with Zayatte, who was actually ok, instead of with Cunningham who we later found out had a broken leg. Correct?

I didn't think it looked a really bad challenge as in I don't believe he meant it. Both players went for a 50/50 ball. GC just got their slightly quicker.
