I think that some people have been a little to sucked in by the MA & MM media sideshow (It's done to sell tickets you know!) and expected us to turn in a 3-4 goal win.
This is Leicester City, the team that's been in relegation trouble for 4 years.

Too true....the approach has been "Roll up! Roll up!" to see the brand new Leicester City - and from a promotional viewpoint, quite rightly so.

The Mercury has joined in to swell the chorus....and quite undstandably so too.

But this leads to the over-optimistic to first get over-excited and then unnecessarily despondent.

My guess is that the new players aren't exactly Roys of the Rovers but there will be some improvement in standards and league position this year - but I think I got a bit carried away too in thinking we might finish 6th...that was a bit silly...so I'm revising that to 10th-12th.

Anyone who has read Martin's posts would not have been 'sucked in' as he has never claimed the new players were a lot better than the old players.
He has only talked about improving, discipline, fitness and working for each other.
Most of the comments I have read on here about the new players have suggested that they are mostly slightly better replacements with a couple of exceptions such as Clemence, DJ and de Vries mk II.

Why the **** did we sign him. I know I dodn't see the game today but he is a complete waste of ****ing space. My God (or Allah in his case) I hope Kaebi is all he's cracked up to be and he gets match fit ASAP. Last season he had no more impact than Jason Jarrett and we didn't go out and sign him permanently. By our esteemed managers own admission he had one decent game against Birmingham and we signed him on the strength of that. Even in his prime at Charlton he was a slightly above average player.

Newton was quite good yesterday and Kaebi is a right back.
How can you judge him if you didnt even see him play?:098:

unless someone who wasn't there said "newton was shite today" which is bollocks as you can't back the argument up. newton was not one of the main culprits yesterday. personally i think most of the blame has to be placed straight at allen for thinking weso should play on the wing, why?????

With Clemence and Kishishev in the team there is no place for Weso, but I think Allen can see his potential so included him in the starting line up even though he was out of position.

teams like chelsea can get away with playing 4 central midfielders with 2 out of position. unfortunately we don't have a team like chelsea :( purely on yesterdays showing i'd rather pair clemence and weso in the middle

Fcuk off. I get pissed off with people on this forum who dont go to games and still have over the top attitudes and opinions. How can you judge when you havent seen the game!?!

Newton was alright yesterday!

I think anyone can hate who they want.

I hate robby williams but i have never seen him play live. Just hearing him is enough for me to hate him. Surely the same can apply to anyone else.

so what you saying then?? unless the bloke gets a plane over each week to watch us he aint allowed to post anything that you disagree with?? jesus!:icon_roll what pisses me off is the people who go to the games and actually think this gives them a god given right to slag off and abuse those that have posted who didnt go because its not what they think.maybe you ought to be bloody thankfull that a bloke who lives thousands of miles away actually spends the time to still support his club! by all means post and disagree with what london had to say and with what im saying too thats what forums are for, but dont go taking the high ground just because you went.

surely the only way you can say whether someone is shit or not is if you have seen them? unless i've totally missed something with this sport?

Exactly. Its like someone saying:

"I havent seen the Man U V Reading game today but I think their new signing Nani is rubbish".

How the fcuk can I even begin to pass comment especially after one game??????????????????????

I hate to be the bloke who pisses on everyones bonfire but if you actually read the lads post not once does it say he was shit against blackpool, it actually mainly says he was shit last year and thats the reason we shouldn't have signed him, which imo is fair enough.

The guy also only said that he hates shaun newton, that may be down to personal reasons such as Newton actually stole his wife, or stood on his brand new pair of white adidas campus.

Its also got nothing to do with the fact he lives miles away. He could live on Brazil Street and not go and I would still think the same.

Agreed, thought Kishishev looked out of sorts yesterday and unfortunately Clemence was not as good as I expected but it's early days yet, I will be able to place better judgement on him around Christmas time.;)

nope your right, but does that mean that london cant have an opinion? i totally agree that in order to get the best opinion on someone you have to see them play over a number of games.im just sick of hearing the " iwent you didnt, so im right and your not" and from what i can gather from the original post it wasnt just a slagging off of newton from the game yesterday but in general.

Yes everyone has a right to an opinion but to base an opinion of a player from what you hear from a tosspot of a radio commentator compared to a fan, surely is not right.:icon_conf

Depends, if your listening to someone who shares my views then yes, it would be better than the commentator, however if the said fan was to have views that are not similar to mine he would be better to listen to the commentator.
