i dont rate newton much at all. for a winger he seems uncomfortable on the ball and is always in field collecting the ball instead of out wide, this congests the centre of the park and gives us no width...especially with wesolowski on the other wing.

Newton is a decent championship player but he should not be played on the left, i know he moved in the second half but still we Clemance and Kishinev gave him little or no service and when he did get the ball Hume and MDV hardly made any decent runs

Newton is ok. He does a lot of good defencive work for the team. I have always thought he could do with gettting to the bye line more though.

Hes a decent championship player, a good cover until the Irainian is ready.

I don't see why everyone is getting irate, yes it was disappointing to lose our first game, especially after all the hype. But we will lose more games this season for certain and play alot worse than we did on Saturday too. Birmingham and Sunderland both had poor starts to last season and, I think, lost alot of games over the course of the season (into double figures I think). So it isn't all doom and gloom. And we still have 12 more points than Leeds have.

Why the **** did we sign him. I know I dodn't see the game today but he is a complete waste of ****ing space. My God (or Allah in his case) I hope Kaebi is all he's cracked up to be and he gets match fit ASAP. Last season he had no more impact than Jason Jarrett and we didn't go out and sign him permanently. By our esteemed managers own admission he had one decent game against Birmingham and we signed him on the strength of that. Even in his prime at Charlton he was a slightly above average player.

He has only signed him on a year contract because he wasn't sure of him. In the absence of other wingers he had to play, unless people wanted another midfielder out of position, a la Wesolowski

hes yet to show his full potential thats for sure and may only be good for cover this season but why do people have to be so harsh on one of our current players.
