After the Saints game IH caused quite a stir by criticizing city fans for the lack of support towards individual players. There have been many varying opinions on here about his outburst. Personally i disagree with a number of posters over their stance on the subject, but as always i will respect their opinions. So was he right, or did he over step the mark by pointing his finger at the fans ? On a previous poll on here over 90% was in favour of his appointment as Leicester City manager. So have you lost respect for him for slating the fans? or was he perfectly correct about the lack of support ?

He's right.... i'd back him if he came out and called a high percentage of our fans "a bunch of brainless morons", it's true after all.

Tough one really. He is very right, our fans never help difficult situations improve with some very negative responses, its no wonder our home record is so poor and has been for the last four years.

On the other hand bad knee or no bad knee Carl Cort is poor but I dont agree with abusing him when the game is still on.

Tbh, i think he has a fair point looking back on it, though its completely different when you're watching the game and when you're drawn into the game. Carl Cort was ****ing awful on Saturday though

He was arguing about Cort being unfit and playing the best he could, but to be honest I don't think he could play much better if he EVER gets fit again

MON never forgot the attitude of the fans at that infamous Sheff Utd match.

If were not careful it could happen again. We have to give IH time to settle in. It's going to take him 6 to 10 games before he has stamped his mark on the team, bought in new players he can work with and got rid of those he can't. At the moment he has to work with the tools he has inherited. And he needs us to give them our best support.

It's not rocket science.

Tbh I can understand why some fans are venting their frustration by booing and of course they are perfectly entitled to do so. Good on Holloway though to point out that it doesn't help, perhaps now he could point out to the team that it doesn't help if they play like wa***rs. It might have helped if he had made it clear before the game that Cort was carrying an injury, but then with some fans probably not as they've already made their minds up.

I really want option:

He was bang out of order.........he has not been here long enough to criticize the fans

And some fans might then have been more charitable about his performance. The problem is, and I am sure this is why we do not get to know in advance, is that it also gives potentially valuable information to our opponents.

Criticize? :icon_sad: :thumbs_do :102:

Since fans do not hesitate to call managers all sorts of names they cannot complain when managers criticize them. I would guess the main aim of his comments was to boost the players. I do not believe it is helpful to boo players because they are playing badly. The only player I have wanted to boo this season was DJ Campbell for the dive which got him booked. That kind cheating spoils the game whether it is for Leicester or the other side. Incidentally before fans get to sensitive about managers criticizing them Brian Clough was known to thump fans who annoyed him.

In fairness though he did give them a kiss live on TV afterwards.

Maybe that's what Olly wants, a bit of an old love in with the fans, tongues and everything.
