Re: Paul Ince

Done well at Southend on a **** all budget. Has a good win %, knows this division very well, managed to get them into the playoffs last season despite having the like of Eastwood sold. He's not a mouthy gobshite, he doesn't do impressions or tell jokes, so must be a good move ? :icon_bigg
Don't know anything about him.

I only know what his statistical achievements are. Didn't take me too long to read :icon_bigg

No good then. If he can't even manage Frank Spencer of Tommy Cooper he's clearly deficient.

Re: Paul Ince

Agree! He's a good manager would've done for an answer though ;)
Would it?

Maybe for your average numptie it might, but I would prefer it to broken down into the form of evidence to back up the statement.

Re: Paul Ince

From the MKDons statement:

Following discussions between the Chairman and Paul Ince, it has been decided that Paul will not be pursuing the opportunity at Leicester City

So this is less of a 'refusal of permission to speak' to him, and much more of a "I personally wouldn't touch your shambles of a club with a ten foot feckin barge pole" decision

Re: Paul Ince

Hardly a ****ing shock !!!

Milan will now move on the realistic targets, no doubt ignoring Grayson and plumping for the likes of Gregory or Reid.

Oh happy days !!!!

why would gregory be any worse of a choice than grayson?

Re: Paul Ince

I hope that milan wakes up and smells the coffee cause no one wants to come to leicester to really manager the team cause they are never given that chance, he needs to fuking realise that the club ****ed!

anyone that comes will only come knowning once they get the boot their going to get a hugh sum of money to go with it,

This from wiki reads quite well IMO ...

Tilson was named caretaker-manager by chairman Ron Martin and proceeded to take Southend clear of danger. Also in the same season, Tilson led Southend to the first ever national cup final in the club's history, losing to Blackpool 2–0 in the Football League Trophy Final. In March of 2004 Tilson was offered the job of manager on a full-time basis, and accepted the offer.[1]

In the following two seasons, Tilson took Southend to two consecutive promotions from League Two to the Championship. Southend also reached another Football League Trophy Final in 2005, but lost to Wrexham.

He's struggled a little in the cup finals :icon_lol: ..... but on the budget he's had and the players he has lost I think he's done a remarkable job.

Thank you.

Climbing over three leagues in two consec promotions is a good thing to have on your CV. Has he now found his level?

I think he's found his level at Southend, but I think given the chance at a bigger club, with a bit of cash to spend he could do alright. Had Southend kept hold of their prize possesions, or replaced then with someone half decent their championship status may still be in place. I guess we'll never ever know.

Re: Paul Ince

I have to say that I have always thought that Ince was a complete and utter wanker, on many different levels and for many different reasons

But the fact that he has chosen not to come here has moved him up in my estimation quite significantly

Good on him :038:

Re: Paul Ince

"I want a manager who has a bursting desire to come to Leicester City Football Club. That is my number one criteria."

That seems to me an excellent way of reducing the field to a managable number of candidates.

Funny how his number one criteria was "hiring a born winner" until Ince declared he was not interested.
