Re: Paul Ince

Unless he has permission to speak to another maanger in a job all of the managers will be out of work if he can speak or has already spoken to them. So not good.

Re: Paul Ince

Pretty conclusive proof that all those who still try to argue that we are a bigger club than MK Dons are plain wrong.

Yes, if Paul Ince's opinion is what all facts are drawn from.

And assuming that his decision was based on the size of the club
And assuming that he wasn't put off by having to work with the mad loony we have in charge (regardless of how big we are)
And assuming that he doesn't think that he will get offered a Premiership, or good Championship job sooner or later (and so why go through all the upheaval twice in a short space of time)

But apart from all that, pretty conclusive proof

No - it suggests that this is a b-stard of a job with unreal expectations by a mercurial owner. Thus - no one much wants it.

If we were a smaller (potential) club with less expectations then there would not be these sort of problems.

I think it could be an overseas manager. :icon_wink

Re: Paul Ince

I reckon Mark Bright offered him some advice :icon_bigg:icon_cool

Re: Paul Ince

sort it out milan. Feck sake, Gordon Brown is more decisive.

Are we still second favs for promotion? Unbelievable....

Chill out MK - it's all an elaborate smokescreen

Pretend we were going for the much-vaunted Ince, and get the (already known) knock back
Pretend that John Gregory is a genuine contender and then tell the useless oily fecker to get lost

Then appoint some boring non entity of a manager (Lambert, Sanchez, Pearson, or some other tosspot) - and all the fans will be relatively happy, or at least not mutinous, because:

a. At least we tried to get Ince; and
b. at least it's not John 'that bastard' Gregory

How funny would it be if he has taken about 3/4 weeks to choose John Gregory! :icon_lol:

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Wouldn't suprise me at all. We need someone who's never heard of Mandaric or Leicester, and we'll convince them that League 1 is actually the top flight ;)

Re: Paul Ince

what people are forgetting is that managers are just the same as players in that they have massive egos so a manager who believes he is good at his job may see this as a good chance to be a hero!
Lets face it any manager that got us out of league 1 in the first year would be loved by alot of people regardless of who it was.

Re: Paul Ince

Ince would of only used us as a stepping stone anyway so this time next year we would of been in the same position.

You say that like it's a bad thing!

The only way Ince, or anyone else, can use LCFC as a stepping stone is if they're successful. Martin O'Neill and Brian Little both went onto bigger things when they left us, and left us in a much better position for their being here.

Some people need to realise that we are not and have never been a big club- we will never be able to keep our best players or managers that long, but we can build on what we've got for steady improvement. If player/manager goes onto to something better and we're in a better position than when they came, whose lost? We're both winners, and that is why it's young hungry managers such as Paul Ince or Darren Ferguson we should be looking at.

If we look for someone whose career peak would be managing us then we are doomed to be managed by second-tier journeymen, the Iain Holloways of this world. I want better than that for my club.
