FT 2-0

Good result. Hopefully we can build on it now with another win before some new players come in.

Re: Ipswich Match Thread

First Boxing Day win since 1991!

Ollie is the man for breaking our curses... we just never win otherwise!

The Ipswich commentary team are being very complimentary about our players and the performance. Saying we have played very well today. Nice words for Clemence, Kisnorbo and Fryatt. :icon_bigg :icon_wink :023:

Woooohooooo we actually won! Still trying to actually believe what has happened!

First half sounded great, 2nd half the game in general seemed to fizz out but a good win and something to build on.

RL were saying that Clem, Fryatt and Hume were all excellent as well as the defense!

Good work lads! :038:

Well done boys, well done Kisnorbo and Fryatt in particular, fans were in good voice too, Must be all down to the FT :icon_wink

Im sure the second half went on far much longer than necesary?

just got back!! all i can say is thank feck for that. It was a refreshing performance to what we have seen in the past few months.

I thought James Chambers worked his socks of, especially in the first half, only thing that lets him down is his crossing.

Matty Fyratt was super, as was Hume, Kisnorbo and it was the best i have seen Stearman play for a while.

Collins John looked lazy as was Bruno on the whole.

Its a good start, but we still need to work on a lot.

Great win - and well done to everyone: particularly Dickie Stearman.
Let us not, however, get too excited. Enjoy today and the signs of recovery but, accept that there will be bad days too before we really turn things around. Ollie still needs time.

Very pleased with today.

Fryatt was immense and although Stearman can usually do no right (in my eyes too) he had a very good game after a shaky opening 10.

I thought the whole team worked well although John did look either unfit or un-interested.

McAuley and Kisnorbo were also fantastic.
On another note, the way Fulop was going round clapping and waving goodbye at the end it looks increasingly likely he'll be on his way out.

Enjoyed today after nearly staying in and not bothering, it's not often we win a game so comfortably.

Great to see a win, but lets not get too excited here, we've still a way to go I'll be more optimistic about a turn around in our fortune if we beat Charlton on Saturday.

It would be nice if someone other than defenders managed to score as well, but you can't have everything.

Re: Ipswich Match Thread

How about first boxing day win since..........2006! :icon_razz :icon_lol:

I think he meant first HOME Boxing Day win:icon_lol:

Won't dwell too much on the negatives........

Collins John is cack.
Ipswich showed why they haven't won away all season.
Those swines couldn't score another so that my 3-0 on my betting slip paid out...

Positives:

Thought they played well.
Thought Fryatt and Stearman did ok today.
Think N'Gotty playing just in front of the centrebacks gives Clemence a bit more time on the ball.
Defence was untroubled for most of the time.
Clemence is now suspended isn't he?

All in all, I'm quite happy this evening!

good result, hope it's not just another flash in the pan like.. well, probably all of our wins for the past 5 years..

remember, even a broken watch gets it right twice a day!

depends how broken....it could be smashed and so the hands have fallen off so it is never right.

Could also be a digital watch.

But what puzzles me is why do we have to remember this pointless fact & what relevance does it have with the win today?

Good win and much needed.Wouldn't get too carried away because as good as we were today as bad we could be on Saturday and lets not pretend we don't need 4 or 5 new players.Still we won and thats what matters.

Will you go through your Christmas Day story at some stage HFpants?

Good win today, Clem, Fryatt and Hume was very well, Stearman MOM for me.

Lets hope we can take this into Saturdays game against Charlton.
