He's commenting on it in relation to his inclusion in the Ireland starting 11 even though he hasn't played regular football. He's not even moaning, he's been asked a question by a journalist and he's gave a very tactful response.

This is the problem of having no reserve games, there is no other way for him to get/stay match fit and prove his form.

I agree - but I think it would be wiser to get some reserve games sorted rather than loan out players that you might need for the first team at short notice.

It's ridiculous that he is complaining about not being in the first team when our squad is as strong as it is. He can't possible expect to be in the starting XI when we've kept 4 clean sheets in a row, and although it would be good if he was on the bench, you don't hear Ball whining when he isn't. Personally I still think the decision to knock the amount of subs down to 5 instead of 7 was ridiculous, and though I understand the reasons for doing it, a stronger squad should be able to have that choice- that's the benefit of being either a larger club or one with more financial backing.

He's warming down. Most teams have a 17th member of the matchday squad in reserve in case of injuries sustained during the warm-up.
