It all adds up to what St Ledger admits is a "nightmare"

He's warming down. Most teams have a 17th member of the matchday squad in reserve in case of injuries sustained during the warm-up.

Erm...did you not consider that it may be punishment for shitting in Milan's, sorry...Top's car?

Didn't he used to play for Swindon Town?

Nothing wrong with his comments or attitude. Also nothing wrong with getting Tunch back at the beginning of Nov and sending SSL out for a month.

He's first choice for ROI. He was poor and made an awful gaff against Bristol but most of the team were nervy and dire that night.

To be fair, he hasn't said anything to ridicule him for. I'm glad he is frustrated at not being in the first team. Wouldn't say much for him if he was happy to be sitting in the stand and picking up his wages. As has been pointed out, he will get his chance when Mills or Bamba are missing for whatever reason. I've watched all of the Ireland games this season and he has done very well for them.

Pantsil is on the bench over him because it gives us more option with Peltier being able to plat centre-back and left-back.

Yep. And as a decent midfielder too according to a Huddersfield fan.

Well, for better or worse, he's got his chance now. Hopefully he'll grasp it with both hands and put in excellent performances against Watford, Millwall and West Ham (I'm assuming Mills will receive a three-match ban?)

As a side note, surely it's better to have SSL on the bench instead of Pantsil? SSL can play CB and RB, so if Pelts or Mills/Bamba have to be subbed for any reason, he can fill in at both positions, but yesterday we had to move Peltier to CB to accommodate Pantsil... he looked alright there, but we were missing that aerial presence that Mills provides. I would have been happier seeing SSL come on when Mills was sent off tbh.

If he starts Peltier at Centre half with Paintsil at right back (which I have a terrible feeling he will), Sven will get a face-full of hot Bovril on wednesday night.

IF he ignores SSL now then there is a problem with them 2, i hope and i also think SSL will deputise and do ok

Surely it would be better to have Pantsil thinking of leaving the club than SSL.

I share your fear. Sven seems to persevere for far too long with things that everybody else can see are failing,

Like Boc, I too share this fear and if it happens I may start to question whether SGE is really the man to take us forward.

I sincerely hope that Sven is the man for us, he seems to have quite a pulling power for players. Just depends on whether he can find/has found the right men for the job and organise them properly. Looking at Birmingham on Sunday, they seem have an almost perfect set-up for this level, a couple a decent ball players and then lots of experience and strength. I think Sven has this idealistic idea that we can play very narrowly and walk through teams simply because of the fact we've got a few ex-internationals, fact of the matter is when we can hardly string together two passes together when it matters his theory kinda falls flat on its arse.

SSL has put unnecessary pressure on himself now with these comments, whether or not they were intended to come across in the way the press has reported them. The fans won't have much patience with him if he makes any mistakes tonight.
