I also heard from a second source this morning about the extension, but no time scale

Presumably when the demand for tickets exceed 32,000 (i.e. when hell freezes over)

I presume this permission has been renewed at some point then as it is more than 5 years since the original planning permission was gained?

Even if that was the case I can't see there being much problem getting permission for something that has already been granted once before.

Interestingly and coz Im quite sad, there have been a number of planning applications since 2003, non of which are for the extension or renewal of on old permission.

It appears that they do not yet have approval for the sunday market, could be another reason why it has been postponed. The decision would have been due on christmas eve, so long after the markets started. It appears there was an orginal conditon that stated that concerts etc were not allowed, maybe something along the lines of "the ground is to be used for organised association football only". This condition has now been changed to allow for concerts.

Also permission for an atm and some banners have been turned down in recent years.

see here for full list back to 2003

true see above post though, it would seem lcc are keeping close quarters on what they will and wont allow at the ground.

Nice bit of research. I doubt that there will be too much of a problem with the Sunday market since it's run jointly with the council. Although, you never can tell..

Don't know whether this as already been posted but the main opponent to the MM takeover bid James Johnson as left the club, thus clearing the path to the MM deal. Johnson says he cannot support the MM bid.

RL have just reported that the EGM will be called in a few days.

(and they've finally broken the news about JJ)

Bit worrying, as one would guess he was brought in as a legal heavyweight, and presumably can make a judgement as to whether the numbers will add up in the long run if MM takes over. Not sure about his shareholding ( if any ) but I would doubt if any objections he has are related to what he will get back as he is a partner in one of the largest law firms in the world and cannot be short of a bob or two.

Going by a previous post, JJ has put 175k into the club, around 2.7% of the total shares.

So not enough to block the deal if MM is going for a full buy-out, but he might be friends with other shareholders. Not sure what the resignation means, whether it means he's washing his hands of the whole thing or if he's trying to make a statement so that other shareholders won't accept the bid.

:102: What has Leicestershire County Cricket got to do with our ground??

there was a groundshare plan submitted just to piss the tigers off

From what i was told on sat the deal is going though as reported in the press :038:

now im not a 100% but the amount of money they uncoverd is some where from 5.1 mill to 7 mill , now the person on the board that is leaving /sacked whatever has been said to be TNBD :102:

MM did offer the shareholders to give them there full investment back but now ive been told its gone down to 50p a share instead of a £1
and there wil be fireworks before the dael is done ,What that means ive not got a clue we will have to wait and see

We can afford fireworks?:icon_lol:

TNBD can't go, don't be silly. Who would MM sit next to and have to kiss his arse at games. It won't be the leicester fans, we can't even manage a chant for the bloke that involves more than 5 or 6 people.

Who is he and has he given a reason for why he can't support the bid. Does it mean his bank account doesn't get any fatter.
