We've hardly been blessed with going the traditional route for the last few years have we?

The traditional route of appointing managers with a reputation described as 'promising' at best?

The names being touted around now, such as Curbishley, Dowie, Keegan, etc. may not be everyone's choice but they are much more high profile than the Cotterill, Newell, Davies that we were speculating about when CL left.

MM wants a high profile manager. Someone in the NOTW has made the connection between MM and Harry Redknapp and decided there is a story there... I hope there is nothing more than that. Whoever he brings in will be someone very media freindly and someone who can entice big players to the club. Jaime Redknapp fits this criteria but like others have said it is a massive gamble.

TBH noone knows who is on his shortlist but we know it is going to be a big name, unlike the guys we have got in since MON.

Ye ok i wouldnt mind this guy but we'd prob get a few of the ex pompey boys lets see.. Todorov, O'Brien, and some of the other crappy reject players.

i can't see him becoming our manager-he'll get shot down by our fans before we even start-plus i reckon he's happy in his media role, doesn't seem the type for management.

Do you not think he's got every intention of becoming a manager and is currently using his media role to generate is public profile, whilst winning across the TV pundits at the same time?

duno-a far fetched conspiracy theory by the sounds of it melts

ps im surprised you didn't see it melts
It's not a conspiracy theory Ringo, it's a common business and networking practise. He could be finding his feet at various levels, and making some good associates along the way.

A career in media is a far more comfortable and less stressful job than managment.
I am not sure about the money side of things but I doubt many pundits will have the motivation to exhange their cosy studios and newspaper columns for 25k fans booing him and calling for his head when things aren't going too well...

And besides one manager is already being shot at for not having the qualifications from the F.A.

HAS REDKNAPP GOT ANY?????

Yes, he's Harry Redknapp's son so he's bound to be a great manager. Obvious.

But surely on that basis he's better qualified to be an agent:icon_lol:

its utter toss. MM is a businessman so why would he place someone with no experience incharge of spending his money. utter bollox.

its about as viable and no different to the rumour saying Steve Walsh as manager, apart from the fact SW has actually got something to do with the club.

Bollocks idea, which will NEVER happen. if it does ill give you my student debt ;)
