Speculation Jamie Vardy

We will not get promotion by signing players "of sufficient quality for this league.". Last time we got into the Prem we had Ian Walker, Muzzy, Brian Deane and Paul Dickov. With all due respect to David Nugent he is not a Deane or Dickov.

I find the thought of Beckford having 46 more games rather disturbing. He has already had an adverse effect on my blood pressure - and on my language.

I can't imagine that an intelligent chap like yourself, David, would not have known that I meant sufficient quality for this league in regards to the task at hand.

And Nugent scored 15 league goals in a team that did pretty shite (to put it bluntly). Although he's not a natural predator in the mould of Dickov, I think that he would have exceeded Dickov's tally of 19 goals in the promotion season to which you refer. But we'll never know.

I refer back to the original point; anyone who thinks that signing a striker is currently our number 1 priority is clearly mad.

Nugent was our best player last season, in my opinion. I love him.

@John__Percy says he's signing tomorrow,

#lcfc set to complete signing of Jamie Vardy from Fleetwood for £1m tomorrow. Will be a non-league transfer record.

Looks promising that hes signing tomorrow (john_percy usually spot on) although Vardy himself has said nothing on twitter (probably told by NP to wait till signed)

Options for some players, stay don't play pick up your pay and prove what everyone suspects, came for the money not the shirt, or leave cut in money but a chance of regular football somewhere else, if you were 25 grand plus add-ons a week which would you choose?

If I was any bit bothered about progressing in my profession it would be the latter option.

It's not any of the players fault that they were offered (reportedly) high wages. They have every right to stay and pick up their money. None of us know if any of the squad last season came here for the money or the shirt but I would suspect as likely most of them are not and were not City fans I expect it was more for the money. That goes for David Nugent and Kasper Schmeichel and Neil Danns just as much as it does Johnson, Pantsil and Beckford.

Why don't we all just ****ing wait and see how the summer and then the season pans out.
