He is a chef at one of my hotels... I can't see him jacking it in to come and play for us

Southampton's Grzegorz Rasiak admits he is worried about his chances of representing Poland after his lack of first-team football at St Mary's.

Rasiak struck his first goal in four months as Saints saw off Scunthorpe 1-0 in the Championship on Saturday, but the Pole fears his lack of regular action could harm his international prospects.

Speaking to the club's official website, Rasiak said: "I always try to give 100 per cent for the club but if you don't play, it's frustrating.

"I want to play in the European Championship finals in the summer and to do that you have to be playing every week.

"If the right offer for the club came in, I may have to consider things. I don't seem to be playing as much as I want, but seven goals from 13 starts is not bad."

Poland qualified for Euro 2008 in emphatic fashion and with coach Leo Beenhakker monitoring the progress of his nation's players, Rasiak hopes he can do enough to impress his new boss.

"I'm very proud to represent my country and I'm looking forward to the finals so I have to make sure I'm in the squad," he said.

"We have a friendly against the Czech Republic next month so I need to be playing every week if I'm to have a chance of being in the starting XI for the Euros."
