Is it? he certainly played along with the idea on at least one television appearance.

That's because he was desperate to promote any notion that he might actually be a human being, regardless of how ridiculous.

Win at Hull.
Get drunk in Hull.
Make sure I catch the train from Hull on Monday morning.
Beat Swansea.
A striker who will convert the chances ours don't.
Draw with Man City and win the replay.
Not be skint the last week before payday(would make a change!)
Get the new carpet put down.
Get a new front door that doesn't freeze shut so I can't open it from the inside.
Beat Preston.
A decent keeper.

I definitely agree with the centre-back brigade. Our first goal conceded to Ipswich came about because nobody challenged the first ball in and, even as an armchair fan, I know that this is not the first time that it has happened.

A strong centre forward, in the Howard mould, but younger seems to be the type of striker Sven's system needs.

I fear that we may end up signing an overpriced, over aged player. Michael Owen has been mentioned. He would have been an amazing signing a few years ago, but now, I suspect, would be in the injury suite more than on the pitch. In the Championship, I fear the same, in the unlikely event that we were to sign Beckham.

can we add to that a 50% reduction in season ticket prices so I can get one again :icon_lol:

The following players to leave: Nielsen, Berner, Morrison, Wellens, Oakley, Howard, Gallagher, Fryatt. Replace them with quality players who will help us to gain promotion - Hammill from Barnsley is a good start

Wellens? :102:

Take one of the fellow Championship clubs top scorers who could fit into the Sven system?
Bothroyd Cardiff 13 reckon he would
Commons Derby 12 play one of the wide roles
Becchio Leeds 11 not sure he would fit system
Graham Watford 10 possibly
Holt Norwich 9 possibly, pace issue?
Iwelumo Burnley 9 not convinced
McGugan Nott'm For 9 think ok for attacking centre middle
Taarabt QPR 9 good on his day, again wide rol
Mackie QPR 8 was good start a flash in the pan
Morison Millwall 8 reckon he would fit the central role well
Sinclair Swansea 8 only wide role

You're an idiot.

What on earth have these two done wrong? Wellens has been fantastic this season, and while he might not be playing very well at the minute, Gallagher is still popping up with goals - which is more than can be said for the current strikers on the books.

I agree that we need to get some quality players in, but we can't just ship out half of the current side and bring in about 6 or 7 new players and expect our problems to be solved. I don't think our side needs a massive clear out, it just needs quality added to it.

...Gallagher is still popping up with goals - which is more than can be said for the current strikers on the books.

I'll preface my remarks with the usual qualification; I am an armchair fan these days, but Gallagher frustrates the life out of me. I seem to remember Sven being quoted as saying that Gallagher is the most skilful player on the books, and I do not have a problem with that.

Where he should play, however, is a real headache. He does not score enough goals to be a striker (take away the penalties and his return is minimal). He is often pushed out onto the wings where, to my mind, he is unsuited and with Andy King playing the attacking midfield role, there does not seem to be a slot there.

I think he is easily the most frustrating player we have.
IMO probably the one with the most ability, but to me, he so damn lazy when out on the pitch in that he hardly seems to want to put any effort in.
He doesn't track back , or want to put tackles in, he never wants to jump for headers, he infuriates me.
