REading all this thread again it would appear Wilcox started his medical early last week and is finishing it sometime this week according to Birchenall,must be having trouble with his plastic hip or maybe his rheumatisicm is playing him up.

I honestly though he'd stop at McAteer for the experienced signings. He's off his fricking head. Next it'll be Nick Barmby

I don't think MA is off his head -I posted some weeks ago that it looked like the club was in a pretty desparate financial position & the current crop of signings reflect that sort of situation. MA has is faults but he is not stupid & is trapped by the financial position. When you read speculation in this morning's press that Leeds are looking at Craig Hignett!!!!! -then you begin to realise the plight of clubs these days on relegation.

I don't think the policies are right but i feel some sympathy for MA who clearly has a board with no wherewithall - underfunded takeover plan that got the ship out of the harbour - got a break with promotion but now confronted by the reality of that underfunding - he's got to find some players from somewhere who nobody else wants.

Very sad stuff!
