EXCLUSIVE - Imps turn down Hughes offer
LINCOLN CITY are locked in negotiations with Crystal Palace over the sale of Jeff Hughes after rejecting their £200,000 bid for the winger.
The Imps have urged Championship Palace to return with a better offer, insisting they are some way from meeting their valuation of the Northern Ireland ace.
It is understood it will take a bid of between £250,000-£300,000 plus a variety of clauses, before they contemplate selling the 22-year-old.
Palace are the only side to have tabled an offer, but the Echo has learned they now face competition from Wolves and Leicester, who are also monitoring the situation.
Officials from Palace and City were today staying tight-lipped about the developments, although negotiations look set to continue over the weekend.
Palace boss Peter Taylor has made no secret of his desire to snare Hughes after making him one of his summer targets.
