Well this was wrote over a month ago and he still hasn't scored (where as McCormack has scored another 3-4). Well Ill be watching the game today so he really should now be getting on the score sheet this aft.

Quite difficult to score from the physio table isn't it really?

Erm he came on for the last half an hour.!!!

Either he is lacking confidence or he is not getting used right but he looks a shadow of himself lately. Beckford would never normally try to score from so far out (when he hoofed it over) and ive watched him for 3 years in a Leeds shirt.
There's pointless making excuses for him saying he will come good etc etc but I'm telling you now he looks way off the mark. It's not as if he has come back from a big injury or anything because he seemed to do ok for Everton.

I love it when somebody upsets spion.

I agree with bazzles, Beckford looks shit. Poor touch, some dodgey decision making and not particularly getting himself into great positions either. It's alright saying he needs the ball to feet but IMO he gets the ball to feet and still ****s it up. Spurned a great chance with poor control today when Wellens put a fantastic cross in behind the defence and right at his feet. Really should be concentrating better there. The row-Z special just summed him up at the moment, desparate for a goal and no doubt frustrated at not being able to get one. Hopefully he gets one against some of the lesser opposition we have coming up next..

All 3 of our strikers looked poor today, but then again our creative midfield was non existent.

We really should be more worried about our boring, uninspiring midfield.

It's just a load of box-to-box players and no real playmakers in there, bar Wellens, who isn't good enough to be the main playmaker at a promotion chasing side.

I just hope what Jeff says is right and that Johnson can come in and do a job as a playmaker.

It's difficult to know right now whether that Derby match feels more like the anomaly or whether this Birmingham match does.

I still can't make my mind up about this side, half of the time we look fantastic and show that we are as good as any other team in the division, but the other half of the time we just look incredibly uninspiring and mediocre.

Let's not forget home wins against Brighton and Southampton as well. We are poised really well for a promotion push, yes we're 13th but we have two home matches which we should look to get 6 points from and, should we do so, I think we'll be in the top 6. A point today would have been a great result prior to the match and so to lose wasn't a huge blow. We've played most of the promotion rivals already and have come away with a very good points total from those games.

Our away play is never going to be as productive just because of the way we set ourselves out but we've lost 1 game away from home this season and recently we've taken points against some very tricky opposition. Cardiff and Boro were both very good away points, Birmingham have only conceded 3 goals at home all season as well.

They look great passing the ball around, keeping possession and bossing the opposition, but there doesn't seem to be that spark there to turn it into many goal scoring opportunities. It can sound clichéd, but we do lack a creative, playmaker.

One small point, the team he came on for was a man down and a goal behind.
He looked rather swamped to me when he got the ball against a Brum team with number superiority and a bus parked in front of the goal.
