Bazzles. Remind me who has leaked the most goals in the championship? Didn't you throw a 2-0 lead away on Friday?

Beckford has played 3 games FFS.

You think you're the first rival fan to come on here and bleat away about how much we have spent? Its boring. Go laugh at Rotherham.

Leeds are woeful in defence although saying the that the defenders we have on our books shouldn't be leaking as many goals as we have done. Im not denying that and Ive never said we will do well. Leicester should finish above Leeds this season and Leeds will only be contenders if they stop leaking goals cos we have never had a problem upfront and have probably been one of the biggest scorers in the last 5 years (From Beckford to now). Even this season I think Leeds are one of the best teams in the league going forward but defensively we are a massive let down.
Leeds haven't showed ambition financially but finance doesn't guarantee anything but does help.

No chance. I expected a very slow start, I'm delighted how quickly we have started to make an improvement. We were always going to have a slow start with the amount of new additions, however I will eat my hat if you finish above us this season, when we get going you sit back and watch us fly from your probable boring mid table position.

Yes you are expected to finish above Leeds the amount of cash you have spent but your ambition isn't to finish above Leeds its to get out of this league and what I saw yesterday you don't look like contenders (to say you have made an improvment)
I will eat MY hat if you finish above Westham,Brighton, Southampton and Boro. It's a tough league.

Well, we've beaten two of those teams already this season despite the fact that we apparently don't yet look like 'contenders'

But please continue with your obsession for the time being - I strongly suspect we won't hear a great deal more from you as the season progresses

You honestly think Brighton will keep this up through the entire season? They won't even be in the top 6.

And your point is?

leeds got a draw at Westham and Brighton away this season considering that we will be lower table fodder.. Southampton looked a class apart that's why I'm sure they will do well. You looked poor yesterday that's all i'm saying but you are sure you will climb the table no problem. You didn't last season!!

Yeah we were poor, but were still the better team away to Cardiff. Cardiff are the ones feeling let off after that. Imagine what we would be like when Wellens pulls his finger out and starts giving some service to Beckford. We still have some decent players in the squad who weren't in the starting line up don't forget. I don't believe this league is as hard as people make out, just look at the top three FFS! We have no one to fear in this league except ourselves. I'm sure many teams feel the same way.

Bazzles you seem a pretty level headed realistic Leeds fan compared to those that I have encountered. Having worked at Elland Road in the past, near on two years I've seen a few. Just not really sure why you are on here bleating (no pun intended) on about your own team. A club of Leeds' stature should surely not be proud of an away draw to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Bazzles remind me what your position was on Kasper.
Not the subject of the thread I know- but I just wondered as he is also an ex Leeds player and more recently. With better defenders, which hopefully he now has, will these defensive shut outs (like the last 2 games) become a feature of our game from now on.
I thought your defence was woeful last season as well as this and the only reason you nearly made the play-offs was due to the goals you scored keeping up with those conceded. But having seen a lot of Leeds goals (for and against) on Look North I usually thought it was the defence rather than the keeper that were at fault.
Over the last 4 games I have thought Kasper has really come into his own and in 2 or even 3 of those games even kept us in the game and been the reason we have won or drawn.

Fecks sake Mo, maybe these conversation should be had on a Leeds forum. He's already admitted their defence are and have been for a while shit.

Just wondering if Bazzles had changed his opinion on Kasper as I'm sure in a previous post when the transfer rumours were going on he said that Kasper was part of their problems last season.

My view of Kasper, as mentioned in the previous thread, is that he is now becoming the keeper we all hoped he would be and now our defence is becoming more settled hopefully the defensive shut outs will become a regular thing. Hopefully we can now start to score more goals so we can win games like the Cardiff game rather than just take a point.

Well yeah our defence is woeful but as I mentioned before it's not because the players are crap but they are individually capable of being better than what they are. Grayson said it was their negative mindset which in a way is true. The jury is still out with the Leeds fans whether we should change the backroom staff because it is a problem we have had for a while. Kasper is a good keeper but Lonegran does look better because we found that Kasper used to flap and get frustrated when we needed that rock of encouragement from him when the defence let him down, Lonegran has that in him and like Kasper has made some class saves this season. With a more composed defence Kasper will come into his own but seeing our goalie now we have made good business just because Lonegran also looks class. Having said that there were a few occasions especially on free kicks where we found Kasper rooted to his spot a few times and let goals past him so he did have his own faults too.

That's bollocks. We bossed the game for long spells, Kasper didn't have a save to make, we had one off the line and then hit the bar. The defence was excellent. We got a point at a bogey ground. It's common with football fans....a 3-3 draw is seen has a superb game when really it means the defences were shit. A 0-0 is seen as poor when really it's proof of good defence
. If we won 1-0, it would have been judged as an excellent away performance.

I'd say its been the complete opposite in the short time he's been here; when the defence has let him down he's produced some absolutely fantastic displays to keep us in games and to earn us draws or wins.

I would agree though that he does tend to get a little too frustrated when things aren't going his way... the incidents at Forest spring to mind; yes, it was a harsh penalty and the subsequent yellow cards were a joke, but if he'd kept a cool head then we might have walked away with all three points from that match, but that's the only blot on his copybook so far.

I think he's been Sven's best signing this season if we do get promoted to the PL then I can see him being a mainstay in this side for years to come - not something you can say about a lot of the players in our team at the moment, except for perhaps Andy King.

As for Beckford, I think we'll see the best of him when Nugent comes back into the side - those two should be a real handful together.

BTW - it's Lonergan :icon_wink

WRT Kasper, I'd say that since his sending off he appears less agitated, and a bit more composed.
That sending off could yet prove a blessing in disguise.

As for Beckford, give him time. It's taken Matt Mills a while to start showing his worth.

we did climb last season.

I think boro, southampton and west ham will be in the top 4. But I think brighton and derby will drop off from that pack. The worry for me is I see the top 5 already have a cushion above 6th.

Nothing thread, we will see how good Beckford will be in the coming games, the next one being only a day away.

Well this was wrote over a month ago and he still hasn't scored (where as McCormack has scored another 3-4). Well Ill be watching the game today so he really should now be getting on the score sheet this aft.
