There was a very interesting article on the Mercury website today, worth a read for all those who naively assumed Beckford would be cast aside as soon as Pearson took over:

Beckford, in my opinion, is a quality player at this level.
I think with Pearson's motivation and man-management, he's just going to get better and better.
Once his confidence is up a bit more and he ignores some of fans booing and whatever else, he'll start banging in the goals for fun.
I, for one, am delighted he's in our squad.
