Had anybody actually heard of him before the press started talking about the possibility of City signing him? Did anybody actually suggest him as a target before then? What is he famous for? If he was any good, and I mean *really* any good, would he have been playing for Crewe for all those years?

He's just another average player at the end of his contract - and there are a few of them about. I am sure that we will manage without him and don't think we should shed a single tear.

Tottally agree with you Boc, but I was refering to your 'lack of ambition' statement, how can you say that going to Sheff Wed shows a lack of ambition? In the 'football world' some would say that they are a bigger club than us :102:

They are

I'm not really fussed. Hes not exactly young, I think hes about 28 - if he was anything special he would have been picked up by a big club years ago.

And others would just look at the last 15 years and compare our comparitive positions over those years.

Depends how you define a big club.

If you're talking about success, they have a much more successful history than us. The 15 period you mentioned is one of the few periods when we've been more sucessful than them.

They have bigger crowds than us most seasons (including the one just finished), and a bigger stadium.

So I think most people with a neutral point of view would consider them to be a bigger club than Leicester.

You will note that I neither attempted to define nor even mentioned 'big club' or 'bigger club'. I leave such irrelevancies to others in favour of the essential.

The last 15 years is the most important period for those who have been supporting City for 15 years or less - which would probably cover most of the people on here.

And in any case, who gives a stuff about the neutral point of view? Isn't it enough that the Wednesday fans live on their history without you giving them succour?

Our Observer attends LCFC board meetings, so when & if targets are discussed then our Observer is aware, but no other Trust people would be.

There's nothing to stop the club having targets and not mentioning them at this meeting for that exact reason though is there
