Get Gilbert in.
Sagna and Eboue are ahead of him at Arsenal and they always churn ou good players who are not quite good enough for them.
I am not sure how good Gilbert can be but he should be good enough for the Championship. Very quick and get back to cover well.
Get him in

The more I have seen of our signings during last season and especially the way the club seems to "effortlessly" bring in loan players ton replace injuries the morer impressed I am with Steve Walsh. (I do realise the "effortlessly" is an illusion.)
It wouldn be ridiculous to compare Nigel with Bloomfield or O'Neill on the strength of winning League One. I will say however I cannot remember a time in forty years when the club was seemed professionally run.
With all due respect to Peter Taylor and Frank McClintock for me the most incompetent manager we have had was Martin Allen. Reading that article on Steve Walsh can you imagine the club today bringing in Jimmy Neilson as first choice goalkeeper on an agents recommendation without anyone ever seeing him play.
It was said about Brian Clough at Forest (and no I am not comparing Nigel with Clough) that the most important job the chairman had was keeping the manager at the club. I have a hunch we are in fior some very successful years as long as Milan keeps Nigel and his staff.

I'd sign Gilbert if possible, doubt he'd cost us a lot at all either.
i agree i think hes been great this season and he improved the more games he played real shame he got injured tho ! Great to see he returned and was in the dressing room at southend - its always nice to get players in who want to play for us :038:
