god yeah, they are huge. Definite value for money for people who like a big meal I would say. The crispy duck starter was excellent too.

Anyone been to the Fusion restaurant lately, and was it any good. Thinking of giving it another try. Was not too good last time.

Will still end up at Casa Romana though

I might look into that....

as for cost, money is no object, I'm not paying....:icon_bigg

went to the Noodle bar at St Nicholas Place last night... food was good, excellent chilli and salt chicken rice. Inexpensive too.

Went there last night.... TERRIBLE!! Yeah it's cheap, but the quality was worse than any takeaway i've ever had. Plus nobody who worked there understood english... a table near by got all the wrong food and the waitresses didn't understand what they were complaining about.

Would never go back.

Oh dear.... that's not good, as everyone else I mentioned the place to always said good things about it. I had forgotten about the waitresses though and their complete lack of english :icon_lol:

Its always been ok in there, reasonable food for little cash.

Went to San Carlo on Saturday good food, though the service was a little off. It perked up a bit once 2 of the waiters had been in a cubicle for a little snort!!

My Mrs had been there ages ago and said good things, this time she took one mouthful of hers and left it. I only ate mine as I was starving. I sat there thinking I wouldn't be suprised if I had food poisoning the next day.

The nicest japanese/noodle food i've had was from little tokyo next to mobius on Braunstone gate. Went there last week, it's only a tiny place but the food was lovely!! Main Course was about £8 rather than the £4 at noodle bar, but I would pay the extra any day of the week for the quality.

Also went to the noodle place in St Martins Square on Saturday (can't remember the name). It was ok, but the place didn't have one oriental person working in there. All the chefs looked indian/packistani!!!! The food tasted like something i'd cook at home using mix in ingradiants from the supermarket. The place looked good, was spotless and they spoke English which is a plus!!

As you can tell I like my noodles!!!!! :038:

That place is awesome. Only been there a couple of times though, normally if I'm down there I end up in Mario's or somewhere on Narborough Rd.

I go to Japan on a regular basis (although it's over a year since my last trip) and we go to the northern mountains of Niigata. The wives of the farmers invite us in for dinner.

**** me you've never tasted food like it, it's fantastic. The nodles and rice are wonderful.

Some of the stuff is so bloody unusual (live fish in a bowl) etc.

Makes the best stuff over here look like a bag o' shite. Niigata rice is also the best in the world, and to eat it straight from the drying out process is just a fantastic experience.

That story seems so strange i'm wondering if you made it up :081:

"Live fish in a bowl" You sure they aren't taking the piss out of you? "Here's comes white man again, lets feed him the pet goldfish and see if he eats it"

I'd love to go to Japan, the language barrier in the noodle bar was bad enough. Not sure i'd cope in a whole country like it!!! :icon_bigg

No, it's incredible to witness. The fish are no more than one inch and they catch them with their chopsticks and throw them down their throat.

They may eat some weird shit, but the old women are picking tea and rice in the mountains well into their 90's. I have some excellent photos of traditional Japanese life.

You never see any "not rights" either, whether they hide them or destroy them at birth I don't know, but I think their diet has a lot to do with it

That's because all "not rights" are shipped to Leicester at birth. Just look about... it's true!! :icon_wink

They're actually in their late 30s - they just look like they're in their 90s.

You mean they eat the 'not rights'?
