The Trust were instrumental in telling Tim Davies to continue to support Craig Levein as long as he did, rather than sack the useless twat weeks earlier when he fukkin' should have done

If that's true then the trust obviously have more of a say in the way the club's run than some people are suggesting, and it's also a reason why if you disagree with them you should join, rather than moan from the outside. It's a democratic organisation, anyone can be voted onto the board, and the board take notice of members views.

I am not interested in joining something that is part of the problem, rather than being part of the solution

But if you think it's a problem, the only way to change it is to join and make changes. Or are you one of those people who is always moaning about people doing things you don't agree with, but you can't be bothered to do anything about it?

I think if you look back to the polls on here at the time, it was still only a minority who wanted him to be sacked.

I suppose you are right. not many saying it was a bad move though hey..

What simplistic twaddle

The Trust is an organisation that has chosen a particular path to tread, and seek to embed itself deep within the club rather than tread an independent path outside of it - where it should be in my opinion. I have no desire to join it, but shall continue to comment/criticise as long as it continues to claim to be the voice of the fans - which it most certainly isn't.

I got off my bum to join the fans forum many moons ago and soon realised what a complete sham it all was. Can't remember seeing you there, Jeff. I have also voiced my concerns/suggestions to the club on a number of issues outside of any formal arrangement. If I have a point to make then I bother to make the effort to make it to the right people directly - I don't need to join some Mickey Mouse organisation to continue to do that, thanks

Webbo - I don't think you read what homer wrote. He only said that the FT told TD to keep CL, not that he actually took any notice of them. IMHO there is no evidence that the club takes any more notice of the views of the FT than they do of any individual fan or group of fans.
People are quite able to make their own representations and don't need to pay £10 for somebody to act on their behalf.

I find your suggestion that people should join groups they disagree with quite amusing - if we each spent £10 on joining every organisation we didn't agree with, how would we be able to afford to go to the match? If somebody has looked at an organisation's stated aims and at the way that they go about their business, why should they not be allowed to make comment on them.

So, if you don't like New Labour, you join it and make changes. If you don't like the Conservative Party, you join it and make changes. etc, etc?

Point taken, but it is the continual carping about the FT that is, too be frank, getting pretty boring. The general consensus appears to be that they are a bunch of lickspittles with no influence on how the club is run. If that's the case, how come so much hot air is expended on them in this forum? Why not just ignore them, if they are so inconsequential?

The same question might fairly be asked of those who moan about those who criticise the FT.

I'm sure many of the people who are criticising the FT don't disagree with what the trust stands for, they just either don't agree with they way they're trying to achieve them, or don't understand what they do. Either way, the best way to make the organisation one which represents the way fans want it to go is to join and have an influence.
