To be honest listening to some of the twattish comments from some fans I have had the misfortune to be sat amongst at City matches, the same could be levelled at a number of blokes as well ( and no I dont mean Melts or BG !!!)

My missus knows a good deal about football. Unfortunately she is from Middlesborough and supports her home town team, but at least she does support her hometown team. Most girls I have ever spoken to watch football or support a team because they like a player (Beckham, Lampard etc) so when me and Vic got together I tested her by asking who her favourite ever player was. Her answer was Jamie Pollock which I thought was fantastic (even if I did think she was barking).

I've had many an unintelligent conversation with guys about football - the majority of the cr@p coming from the other participant!

Whether I talk intelligently about football, I couldn't tell you, but I do know all the rules (well, as much as anyone can when they keep changing them!), so that's a start, right?!

A lady that understands the off side rule: where have you been all my life? Oh, and if you wouldn't mind explaining the latest interpretation, cos' it still doesn't make sense to me.

i had to move seats for this season due to a bloke who i used to sit next to subjecting me to absolute bollocks opinions and rants. he started slagging elvis off last season when it was actually fryatt who missed, hammond wasn't even on the pitch. so yes it can be men who are as bad.

women's reputations for football knowledge tends to take a real bashing when the world cup is on. loads of fat lasses wearing england shirts with gerrard on the back who don't even understand why corners are given.

I think that the average football supporter knows that there are ladies with intelligent views on the game - and those that have no idea. This, of course is just like us chaps.
Crikey, I even watched, and enjoyed, some of the Women's World Cup - and not just for its pulchritudinal properties! Where the case of the fairer sex is being done no favours at all, is in the media's desire to put a pretty face upon the box, whatever the story.
The gravitas of wrinkled newsreaders was the first to be swept away but now, we regularly see an attractive young lady, who clearly has no more interest in football than I have in crochet, struggling with the most basic concept of our beloved game. We all know that this is done in the name of political correctness, but I cannot understand why this only seems to cover "eye candy" and not the many females who have a grasp on the finer points of sport.
