Fair enough babs
That's the main point, I think. Our current squad has just won Leaue 1 at a canter. There will be a few lower league players, no doubt, who would be good additions, but on the whole it'd be more of the same or downgrading from what we have now.I've seen him quite a few times and he's probably been Carlisle's best player this season, but still not as good as the players we've already got.
This Kid Is NOT in league 1 But should be available on a free so could be a shrewd signing and that is the young Boro winger Graeme Owens.
If they've offered him a new contract he won't be free.
Chris Taylor - no thanks, mardy arse and no good anyway.
Richie Lambert - at 27 I think hes getting on a bit, hes good at his level but I cant say as hed be a worthwhile investment for a club looking to get into the Premier League.
I think players worth atleast looking at would be:
Boyd, Mackail-Smith (Peterboro')
Beckford (Leeds)
Lewington (MKDons)
Cox (Swindon)
Surman (Southampton)
I think we are pretty desparate for one maybe even two permanent keepers of quality, and I think we've had some good ones in on loan here this season. I'd think we'd stand a good chance of getting Martin in on a permanent from Liverpool and I hope we do that but Stockdale and Bunn have impressed and Kelvin Davis is now ripe for the picking at Southampton...
Didn't they say that about Kisnorbo when we were relegated ?

Not that we have a chance of signing him but i think George Boyd was the best player i've seen play against us this season.

I may struggle to take anything you say seriously ever again.
I think I have a valid point but whatever. 27 may not be over the hill but for me it's a bit old for someone who doesn't have more experience playing at a higher level than league one and especially so when there are a few better alternatives. A good example is Trundle, isn't he a similar age but failed to make the step up to the Championship after a good few seasons in league one with Swansea...?
Of course, another example of a 27 year old stepping up from League 1 (or whatever it was then) would be Matt Elliott...
