So mostly duffers then yeah?

Is his hit rate worse than previous scouts? Is it worse than scouts at other clubs? I don't think so in reality.

I don't care that he's gone. I wouldn’t have cared that much about him staying either. Transfers are always a gamble. Soumare looks shit but loads of people on here were excited by the signing. There was nothing wrong with the logic of that one. Vestergaard had a cracking season for Southampton and we needed a CB. It should have been Tarkowski but I get the logic in signing Vestergaard if cash wasn't available for Tarkowski. Daka is another who absolutely fits our mould and is a very understandable signing. Justin is a cracking buy and Perez is a perfectly adequate squad addition. He got the Tielemans deal over the line which is great and Fofana is a sensational buy.

Players like Lookman and Ünder were punts and so, rightly, we took them on loan rather than buying them. Again, this is fine by me.

The Bertrand signing was ****ing lunacy. He's done very well and he's done very badly, just as all scouts do.

Whether he’s been a flop or not there’s nowt wrong with having fresh ideas coming in.

Whilst at Everton, he recommended they buy Robertson and Maguire for a combined 20m as well as Erling Haland for 4m….

They rejected both deals….
There are more examples of this if i remember correctly. He was dealing with a bonkers board and owner at Everton.

He’s busy.
I'm sure he'd return for the top job here. More money, best league in the world, club relationship, plus we've got Jollibee in town now.

I was thinking about our transfers since BR came in. For his first match at Watford almost three years ago, this was our side:

Schmeichel, Evans, Morgan, Maguire, Ricardo, Ndidi, TIelemans, Chilwell, Maddison, Barnes, Vardy. The likes of Soyuncu and Iheanacho were on the bench too.

Our first team hasn't really improved at all in those three years has it? We've got a bit more depth in our squad and that's about it. Feels like three largely wasted years of transfer business.

Just consider our opponents the final day of that season - Chelsea - and how their side has evolved from the one we faced then: Cabellero, Zappacosta. Azpilicueta, Luiz, Alonso, Barkley, Jorginho, Loftus-Cheek, Pedro, Willian. Higuain

More strength in depth yet the manager still moans about injuries, and we still do shit in Europe.

Hardly a fair comparison, how much money have they been able to spend?

Signings under Congerton include:

Justin, Perez, Tielemans (only the permanent deal), Praet, Bennett, Castagne, Fofana, Under, Daka, Soumare, Bertrand, Vestergaard, Lookman

I think we can say 6 of those have been good deals with the jury still out on a young Soumare.

Also, thankfully Bennett, Under and Lookman were only loan deals.
Justin, Tielemans, Castagne (although not the position we needed), Fofana, Daka are presumably 5 of them. Who is the 6th?

Surely we can bribe the Italian authorities (well yea obviously) to let the useless twat leave immediately

Waiting for a work visa.

Really good point.

And we sold two of those players for £130million. That should have been more than enough to evolve and improve the squad.

What have we spent our money on?
