Lee Hoos and pointless bullshitting.

I believe it is fair to complain about the performances of McGivern and Kermit. More could have been expected of McGivern coming from a Premiership side. Kermit is a surprise signing. he was on trial long enough for it to be clear that he is not good enough for the Championship let alone the Prem at some time in the future.

However, it seems premature to complain about Solarno. The same complaint coujld have been made when MON signed Tony Cottee. Solarno should be given a few games before we judge whether he is a Cottee or merely a Nathan Blake.

The criticism of Alex Bruce is very harsh. He has not kicked a ball for us yet and still people are moaning about him.

Lets give Solarno and Bruce a chance before we stop supporting them.

Disagree with you for probably the first time ever. I still think Yann will come good for us.

Plus i'm not criticising the ability of Alex Bruce. I just don't think he's the kind of player who will a massive difference to our side.

If they think I'm buying another season ticket months before this one expires they can **** off!!

And are you really basing your opinon on Solano appearing for 6 minutes against Newcastle where he made a couple of passes? I dunno if he will be any good, but hes still a 35 year old winger past his prime and with little pace.

Solano was never about pace in his prime anyway, he could just cross so well, I'm not sure that disintegrates with age too much.

I'd rather they just admitted we haven't got a pot to piss, rather then the spin we get.
I'm glad the club hasn't come out and said we haven't got a pot to piss in. True or not, it's hardly a positive way to mount a playoff push, is it?

Have you ever wondered why LCFC, and all other clubs, and indeed all other businesses use this nasty "spin" technique, or marketing as some people call it? It's because it works.

I'd much rather they carry on pumping out the bullshit. If it can placate the fans from time to time, keep everyone at the club motivated, increase the amount of money coming into the club and doesn't reveal our hand in the transfer market, then I'm all for it. That's the sort of thing they're aiming for - you have to assume that they wouldn't just come out with this sort of shit purely for the sake of it.

Lee Hoos is a convenient hate figure but it looks to me like he's doing a fairly decent job. I want LCFC to be professional, I don't really care if they're bullshitting as long as they're doing as well as they can.

And anyway, who ever heard of an honest football club? Why would we expect our club to break the mould now?

There's definitely something fishy going on behind the scenes regarding our finances and what MM promised he would spend in Jan. He may just be shit scared of the tax investigation (when is this btw?). I agree that bulshitting may help the motivation of the side etc. but it mdoes seem like we really don't have a pot to piss in with Hoos coming out with stuff like this.

I feel a re-launch of "Where's the Money Gone?" is on the cards.

Tony Cottee was 31 or 32 when he signed for Leicester - which is a big difference in professional football from being 35 i.e. the difference between just maybe having a couple of decent seasons left....and time to embark on a new career!

It is possible that Solano may prove to be a a very short term asset. However, whilst I think that we have actually over-achieved this season and that NP is doing an overall excellent job, I still think that there is a downside in terms of some lack of encouragement of young players.

Time will tell but my guess is that Solano for Gradel will not prove to be a very smart move.

Seeing as we are where we are with no input from Gradel, if Solano never plays I don't see how we will be any worse off?

I believe the tax at stake is circa £50,000, so I don't think that has anything at all with our finances. The one thing that is for sure is that the club is losing money week in week out. That probably has more to do with not lashing out loads of dosh in the transfer window ( like almost every other Champo club I might add ). If the money ain't there, don't try to spend it. We've been down that road before.

Of course I don't expect Leicester to come out and be totally honest, no club does it so why would they. My point was I'd rather they didn't say anything at all or admit the truth instead of expecting us to believe we made some really good deals this transfer window. If our clubs motivation relies on such exercises then its a bit dissapointing.

I was looking at the future development of the squad rather than the mathematics of past contributions.

My guess is that Solano is unlikely to provide decent value for presumably relatively high wages - whereas it's more likely that Gradel had a spark of talent that was worth nurturing.

On the wider issues - I guess that it's nearly impossible to run Leicester City at a profit in the Championship; the transfer system is rapidly evolving into one that is about wages rather than big fees.....and it looks like that MM is being increasing careful about spending money and the Solano deal had to be financed by outward moves most notably Gradel.

All that...and for that matter Premiership clubs as well.

In almost every business sector, the critical financial issue is the percentage of iexpenditure going on on wages. The wages in football have been driven far too high by the mega rich owners and those with a capacity to incur vast debts. The whole thing could do with sorting before the market resolves it through liquidations.
