The commentators in the US said it all - why on earth did NP play such a defensive side at home. What a sleep fest.

**** all to do with management. Players make decisions and both teams players made poor choices in attacking situation.

Think King had three chances to put in a simple cross for a chance but cocked everyone up.

Said before and say again, difference between teams in this division is minimal.

As one who consistently questions NP's tactical abilities I am going to make a further observation. After listening to his interview he said that the new system will not be played week in week out and he will change it from match to match as he seems fit - not his words verbatim but what I gathered from his comments. It was also mentioned that De Laet was not fully fit. Why on earth did we not then play a more attacking 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 formation today, sticking to his new system when under this De Laet is under pressure to cover so much ground. It just makes no sense to me - a positive attacking display today would have set the season up so nicely. While I think most of us would be happy with 4 points from 2 games, this was a disappointing bore draw where we lacked creativity until he was forced to change the system - would he have changed it up if De Laet was fully fit - not so sure.

Just got back, didn't think it was that bad to be honest.

The back three and Drinkwater impressed me. I thought Moore in particular was outstanding.

Utterly, utterly dreadful

I mean, there aren't enough words to summarise how truly feckin' dreadful that was.

Terrible, awful, woeful shit

aweful game, reminds me off last time we fighting to stay up, playing defensive at home hoping to steal a 1-0 win.

Well that was ****ing boring. Both sides were crap. A more attacking set up would have been nice but then as has already been said there was some poor decision making going forward. Our left side will be a problem if it consists of Konchesky and Whitbread. The former left the latter exposed too often and Whitbread was just poor anyway. I thought Moore looked more assured and mature than this time a year ago and Vardy looked the sharpest of our forwards, as far as it was possible to tell.

Well, that was my first live viewing of the exciting new formation and it is clearly the work of a mad man.

Dispense with any pretense that it is 3-5-2. It is 5-3-2. We have two defenders playing in wide positions which means that they are out of position when the opposition attack and clueless when we have the ball. We have Wes Morgan, our best marker by far, in a libero sweeper role which enables him to watch the game almost completely without involvement. He occasionally tidies up the cock-ups of others, but aside from this, he effectively becomes a spectator. Then in midfield, we put three very similar players all together in a little huddle specialising in side and back passing. There is no energy, enthusiasm or ingenuity amongst these three amigos. On to our strikers who were cast so far adrift from their colleagues that they had a better chance of a pass from Tom Hanks than a City colleague.

If the object is to bore to death the paying fan and the viewer, NPs tactical genius is complete. Make no mistake, Leeds are awful. They were there for the taking from any side with the guts to make a semblance of effort. In order to attempt to change the status quo in a game, we now have make multiple substitutions. Today's changes just resulted in more players becoming lost and confused. They also only served to feed my dislike of Knockaert for his petulance, arrogance, self-importance and largely piss poor talent, that grows with every moment of viewing him.

As others have said, Moore has grown up and now looks like a very able defender. Vardy looked better than last season, stronger and sharper. Whitbread grew into the game as it progressed aside from his customary lapses. That is as far as positivity will stretch. Several competed for worst player on show but Nugent won for me, narrowly ahead of a pointless King.

There were large areas of the stadium empty that used to not be. This indicates to me that there are many fewer season ticket holders in parts of the West and East Stands than in previous seasons. In the North Stand, there appeared to be additional kids swelling the poor turn out. Almost in totality, there was no atmosphere and no life amongst the lot of us. Even Bernie appeared bored. Were in not for the yawping from the away end, I might have actually nodded off. Those newly absent, probably watching from home or the local pub, were treated to a spectacle that only served to affirm their sense at not bothering any more. If this sort of 'performance' is a sign of things to come, there will be many more absentees.

Circumstances have prevented me from attending any games so far this season and I was reduced to watching todays match in a pub. I will leave comment on the performance to those who were there.

Can someone whose has seen Leicester live (as opposed to on a screen) tell me whether Vardy has improved enough to deserve his place ahead of Wood. When I saw Vardy last season I thought he was brave and hardworking but at best an average Championship player. Schlupp showed greater natural ability.
Wood on the other hand is a proven goalscorer at this level. When he first came Wood looked too good for the Championship and far better than Vardy. It seems to me that managements job is to make sure that is the Wood that we see rather than the one who was ineffective during Leicester's bad patch.
It would be interesting to know who Nugent would rather partner - Wood or Vardy.

Just got back (live in Preston these days).

Don't understand all the negativity. Yes it was a shit game. We didn't score against a strong Leeds defence.

On the plus side they didn't score against us. The first clean sheet this season shows that the players are slowly adopting to this new 5-3-2 system and it makes sense for Pearson to get it bedded in.

For all the naysayers, Pearson clearly was aware there was no 'plan b' so how people can complain because he's trying to create the opportunity to provide one is beyond me.

So all in all, a crap game but signs of some progress generally. Vardy not so much, but absolutely for Moore.

All IMO, obviously…

I agree he has now discovered a plan 'B'. Unfortunately he has now decided that this should be plan 'A'. We were woeful and Leeds were slightly worse.

Unless I nodded off I can't remember their keeper making a save for the entire game. We have slow unproductive full backs plugging into a system that requires attributes that none of them possess, such as pace and vision.

Turgid at best.

Dull game - but I think de Laet is extremely quick. And even Konchesky was pretty quick last season for the first 70 minutes of each game. I don't think those are the worst two full-backs to be trying this system with.

Early season performance and a manager who changed things at the right time which meant we dominated and nearly won the match against a very good side.

For me, whilst the first half looked understandably stunted due to players learning a new system, much of the second we looked like winning the game..

Let's get behind the lads please..

I hope you are right Dour.

I didn't think Leeds were that good personally. Bit of an aerial threat, nothing else.
If you had a bit more crisp passing through the middle I think you'd have destroyed them.

Just to note that my betting nipple tweak was to not do the system immediately after a full house. Next week the system is back
As for 0-0, so what? Its a point and a clean sheet. We are currently in promotion form.

Yes to that! Very boring, dull game.... but I don't think that equates to an awful performance. As Pearson said, the teams just cancelled each other out.

While I would've liked to see a more attacking lineup, I can understand looking for stability early doors.

For DG's point about Wood/Vardy - Wood was very poor against Wycombe and Vardy scored last time out, so I think the decision was justified. To your point about Pearson needing to get the best out of Wood, absolutely, but I'd argue that's what he's trying to do.... needs to know he's not guaranteed a place, and seemed much more lively when he came on today.
