So if the players are toxic, how come we had a few excellent games from them AFTER Puel was appointed but before he started tinkering?
I think if the manager had gone a few weeks ago, the team would have reverted back to that pressing, fast counter-attacking style and we would have been doing much better.
I am not sure if players, as a group, choose to play crap. There are obviously communication and tactical issues which have resulted in the players not being sure about how they are supposed to be playing.
I certainly blame the manager for trying to play his future style with unsuited current players, instead of playing to current strengths and changing the style when he has new players in.
Either way, because he will not play to current strengths, or communicate effectively with the players, I think he must go.
