Yes Kasper made a mistake, but he also pulled off a wonderful save in the 2nd half at 0-1 from Morata. I understand the criticism but he’d be snapped up by United, Liverpool or Arsenal should they be looking for a new keeper in the summer. The top 6 punish every mistake and we saw that tonight. We just make too many mistakes to look beyond 7th place in the PL. That said, if you offered 7th or thereabouts and two good cup runs I’d have taken that.
no they wouldn't

In honour of our feeble excuse for a manager, I've changed my avatar.

Talk down our side all you like. Talk up the opposition performances all you like.

They had three good players today (Kante, Willian and Hazard). The rest were knackered and shite. As the game went on, they got progressively slower and more desperate to waste time. Our response to their shape, their play and their weaknesses were all awful. Brain dead management.

We retreat when we should attack. We gamble to free up space for our full backs who couldn't cross or create to save their lives. Meanwhile, everyone else passes the ball from one side of the pitch to the other desperately hoping that Mahrez or Vardy will do something special. That is it. We have no other tactic. Vardy is so isolated most of the time it's extraordinary. With each month that goes by, he sucks more life out of the players.

When Vardy and Mahrez escape in the summer, we will be left with a pitifully poor team led by a fool.

Claude is a fraud. Puel out.

If the keeper comes he's got to get it. But I'm more concerned as to where either of our centerbacks where for a ball which was played into the center of our box.
Or a tracking midfielder?! Think Iborra’s legs had gone just before they scored. Not blaming him though as I can’t remember who Pedro ran past unopposed.

What a complete load of shit

I thought Chelsea were bang average throughout, and it's a crying shame that we pissed away a chance to get to the FA Cup semi final FFS

Chilwell was absolute filth. Complete and utter bollocks from start to finish. Nacho wasn't far behind him. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, and again and again. He's an absolute duffer. And i'm afraid that match showed us that it's time to say goodbye to Danny Simpson

But despite all that, despite the fact that Puel nearly left it too late to make a change, despite the hopeless inability to cross a ball, despite the woeful failure to have any shots on target, we still made it to extra time and should have gone on to win the game

But then we were treated to the most pitiful, hopeless pathetic piece of goalkeeping we've seen for years. Absolute shit. Completely, bafflingly, stunningly shit. What a total wanker

Feckin' rubbish

You are so absolutely intent on removing any responsibility at all from the players every single game that your views on Puel can't really be taken seriously.

I agree

Really, really disappointed with the performance and naturally with the result.

We had a real chance to progress yesterday and once again we were not up for it.

The tempo was too lacklustre from the off.
Don’t und season and how the players can’t be motivated enough to give it all for the whole game.

Schmeichel needs a few weeks in the ressies.

I’m surprised by the negativity in here.

I’ve been as critical as anybody about the last three home performances but thought yesterday was completely different.

I think we tried to play good football and do so with attacking purpose. Let’s not forget that Chelsea are a very good side. Certainly much better than we are. We were the more impressive team for large periods though and could have won the game.

The major problem for us, individual errors aside, was our lack of a decent final ball. Unfortunately when Chilwell and Simpson are those providing it you kind of know the outcome before the ball is played. Both need replacing. Simpson has done for some time.

If anything the end of the 90 did for us. We had the momentum and the stoppage took the wind out of our sails somewhat. The notion that it was “Puel getting hold of them” is nonsense, of course. He had hold of them at halftime and we came out much better. People can’t have it both ways.

I left gutted at being knocked out but not by the manner of it. And at least I now don’t have to worry about being abroad on Cup Final day.

As regards the performance compared to the last three games, this was much of a muchness with the Swansea game at least - lots of progressive play but pushing hard against well organised defences, and a fatal tendency to lose concentration or concede possession - not good enough against a team as good as Chelsea. Willian's thrust forward was decisive play of the highest calibre - we've just not got that quality for that final ball.

However, Albrighton was at his considerable best, and makes the difference in giving our midfield some potency, just wish the other positives from yesterday weren't masked by [yet again] how cheaply we conceded the goals.

I can't fecking stand Puel. That's the second time this season I've sat through two hours of a quarter final that was there for the taking and his pathetic, negative, idiotic, twattish tactics have handed the tie to the opposition. Chelsea were total shit!!!

We started too defensively. Vardy was completely isolated. Iheanacho had no idea what role he was supposed to be playing. We completely failed to cope with their wing back system and did nothing to address it throughout the game. We go behind.

Second half we actually make some attempt to attack and get the equaliser. We then look the most likely to get the winner until Puel gets his hands on them before extra time and sucks the life out of them yet again. We then proceed to play extra time like it's us that are knackered, not Chelsea.

So many examples of things we did wrong today that were easily fixable and he ignored every single one. He's no good. He's a fraud. He's not going to make us anything.

Please don't let him recruit a load of tedious, tippy tappy tossers this summer whilst several of the players with hearts like lions quietly depart. It will be the death of us.

I think you may have gone slightly OTT.

I don't know what to make of Puel. I can see both positives and negatives but I can recognise that Chelsea have loads of quality and deep down thought they would find a way of going through.

My main gripe is that based on his post match conference feedback Puel is taking overlong to spot that Chilwell is neither an orthodox full back (he can't defend) nor a wingback(he has no guile nor variety in crossing a ball.) He's had more than enough game time to demonstrate that he isn't up to the job. Puel is also signed up to the myth that Kasper made a rare mistake. In reality he's looked dodgy all season - especially when he's given time to think.

Simpsons days are numbered in this side. Just doesn't offer enough going forward. Chilwell will also be out the door as his end product is wank.
Thought Simpson busted a gut this game and had a part to play in the lead up to our goal via Mahrez - but have to agree his deliveries into the box was on a par with Chilwell's

I’ve said it before an I’ll say it again - I don’t think there is any need to call someone a twat, just because you don’t think they are performing well enough.

By all means, criticise the job you think they’re doing, if that’s how you feel, but I don’t think it makes them a “twat” and it devalues the point you’re trying to make, IMO.

The problems with our attacking play are so obvious.

Every single thing we do has to go down either wing, if it's not available we'll spend 30 seconds playing it over the other side to have a look.

Not one of these players can find the pocket in the middle and actually ask for the ball.

It's so easy to defend against as the opposition know where the ball is coming from every single time.

The other baffling aspect to this is why the **** we make shit crosses into the box our top priority in the 1st place, we have nobody who can beat a decent CB in the air.

They need to learn to move more for each other, centrally.

Fortunately Optus were playing the season review 2015/2016 tonight. Suddenly everything seems ok again.

Quite right Lako.

Chelsea had class players in every position whereas we had Simpson and Chilwell who cannot cross a ball or even win a corner consistently. Okazaki is also out of his depth and looks overweight. He does not score enough goals and is easily swatted away like a pesky fly.

Iborra was our best player and looked comfortable all game. When Silva came on he looked really good too.

Next season I would like to see us play 4-3-3 with new right and left backs, Ndidi, Silva and Iborra in midfield, Vardy, Iheanaco and a decent replacement for Mahrez upfront.

I agree Lako and I also agree with you Volpone, on this point. I realise others disagree and obviously it doesn't always come off, but Silva is the one player I can see trying to get into the pocket and create down the middle. He was doing this against Swansea, in the first half, and, noticeably, Iheanacho was benefiting from this.

Good teams have different ways to get at teams, whether it be out wide, or through the middle. I think Silva is the player who can provide something different this way. It may be that in some games that isn't the answer, but in some games it will be and that's why we need options.

Thought Moses should have been sent off

...twice. Mrs Boc, who hates football, was incensed when she discovered that a yellow card meant NOT sent off.
