I know what you mean.Winning the Premier League has kind of spoilt it for me.
However, at least we had a plan. An idea of how to play against them. Today, we sent our side out against them with no consideration whatsoever for how they were going to play.
The score was 1-2 but they could and should have picked us off for at least a couple more. We created little and it was sad to see just how wide a gulf between the sides there was.
There are several players of genuine quality in our squad. Really top players that can mix it with anyone. However, after every game like this, I can almost see another little bit of air disappearing out of their tyres. Soon, they'll just be bang average or demanding moves.
All this and more from Shakespeare with another boring performance from a boring team playing boring football.
I absolutely agree about the club management. Recruitment has been a shambles as has the way memberships and tickets have been dealt with. Little things that piss off supporters are bad for the club and this radiates to the players. They need a rocket up their arse. Not too many issues with the overall result or performance from some players who aren't good enough for this level of football.
I do however have a massive issue with the small details of our game. Slow to react to throwings, backs still turned when they have already thrown the ****ing ball.
Our attitude towards attention to detail and the finer points of the game is ****ing shocking, amateurish at best.
The determination and will to win every battle has well and truly left some of our players. They have won the league and they will never be the same again.
Despite this and as I said, the result was expected, the lineup was as expected and the performance overall was ok.
My main issue is a more general one at this stage. It's like the club is being ran by imbeciles, incapable of getting important things right.
The fact we had Matty James and king in midfield 1 full season after winning the league is truly tragic.
I'm just waiting for the announcement of a new deal for Andy.
We seem a bit rudderless, drifting around just waiting to see what happens rather capitalising on our position and developing a real identity......it's kind of gone already.
Yet again we looked much better in a 433 please learn that lesson and go with it
Do you (blah, blah, blah) than plaudits.
For someone who wasn't going to respond to 'such nonsense' this is some response. Are you seriously expecting me to respond to this nonsense?
Listen, I'm sure there are others as bored as me with your determination to argue against just about everything I post.
You don't agree with me, that's fine. I respect your opinion. Just move on.
I'm waiting for the chuckle brothers to come along and blame it all on Morgan...
It's odd. I thought we looked better as a 4-3-3 but there were some really poor moments at times. In the first half we had fewer of these such moments but we didn't look as productive. Its difficult to strike a balance but I think against Huddersfield I would certainly go 4-4-2 and try to get the ball wide at the earliest opportunity. We really didn't though. We were probably better in the first half and the substitutions at half-time didn't really work.
The fact we had Matty James and king in midfield 1 full season after winning the league is truly tragic.
This is the most ridiculous thing. James and King should have been moved on some time ago but we hung on to them like comfort blankets. We needed the Silva deal and another CM purchase to really push these players to the side lines and beyond but we somehow managed to bollocks it up again this year. They were playing together five years ago in the Championship, and here we are going full circle and (painfully) watching them play together again
It's like the finest period in our history never actually happened at all, and we back where we belong
Tragic is about right
I think we have to accept that if Silva and Iborra were available, King and James would be playing the benchwarming role. We have had some unfortunate injuries in midfield.
