:018: I would sure as hell we wouldn't be diving all over the place and feigning injuries to deliberately waste time. Defensive tactics are one thing, but they were just plain cheating at times.

I hope that nobody will suggest that the feigning of injury by the Plymouth players had anything to do with their interesting looking physio. Such a suggestion would be politically incorrect and rightly earn a reprimand by Cate, beautmont and other members of the Matt Oakley fan club.
(Count this message as being followed by whatever emoticon counts as a wry grin).

A word on King. I'm far from his biggest fan but he's improving with every game and today was probably his most consistent 90 mins of the season. It was pleasing to see him score the winner.

I was only listening to this on the radio, but I kept hearing the phrase "dispossesed by King". I assumed we had another player called King playing for us because we all know that Andy King can't tackle.

Maybe NP is better at spotting a good player than some of us on here.

Not all of us dislike Andy King... He played a blinder today IMO!

I had the radio commentary on and tbh they didnt say much along those lines...more of 'possession lost again by King' which I heard several times:icon_razz
I have to say I didn't see much tackling by him at all, but then Plymouth tended to bypass the midfield when they had the ball, so tackling wasn't required a lot on the middle of the pitch!

I thoght he had a decent game today, helped that he didn't have to do as much running about cos Kermit was doing loads of that.

He just had to stay focused and help create space for Wellens which he did well.
And of course he was in exactly the right place to follow up N'Guessans effort.

I'm not a fan of his, I'll freely admit that. But I will say when I think he's done well and today was one of those times.

A confession. I was hoping that it would be King who would be taken off for Adams. Then King answers his detractors by scoring the winner.

I had said that too.

I thought Brown had a good game, both personally and as captain. Fryatt seem to do very little of use.

Monsieur K's rear end is not a patch on Oakley's unfortunately, but I still look forward to seeing the photos. And since I'm being sexist you males can say what you like about their physio. There were certainly a few comments in the seats around me about people wanting a rub down.

I actually enjoyed this game more than most I've been to in recent years. The look on Pearson's face and his reaction when we scored was just brilliant.

I thought we looked pretty good, and was confident we would always get the goal until we brought Howard on. We then became predictable and boring, but ironically managed to get the goal in the period we looked less threatening!!!

Also i thought Kermorgant did very well yesterday. Yes he may have got caught out in possession a couple of times but he's barely played in 6months and barely played in this league before, so still needs to adapt but he looked promising. Also his performance for me was a clear indicator of just how passed it Howard now is...

Every one seems agreed that Plymouth lacked ability. We were unable to break them down with the team that began and needed the assists of two of the substitutes. I am surprised that people feel the performance was good. Even Nigel says that "we weren't at our best."

It is one of the baffling things about football that different people with a good knowledge of the game can see a totally different match.

Just because a team is bad doesn't mean they will be easy to break down. We had many chances to win the game and pulled out another late goal because of the never say die attitude instilled by NP.

Very satisfactory :icon_bigg

Ir's good to see the kop end scoreboard working again, but irritating that it tells a different time to the one at the other end.

(This is where people tell me it's been working for ages - but I was in a different part of the stadium yesterday so could actually see it properly)

They got it working for the West Brom game, so you're alright, it's not been working for long ;)

I can't deny that I'd probably have complained a bit had King not gotten the winner, but seeing as he did I'll say it was a good performance, save for a bit too much trying to pass it into the back of the net. Plymouth hardly troubled us and in the 2nd half in particular seemed set on a draw.

And what a revelation it was to actually have someone taking good corners. After a couple of seasons of about 1 in 5 being good I didn't see a bad one at all on Saturday.
