Interesting to note that the side at the top of the PL after two matches last season and the season before both ended up as Champions.

Going further back, the three preceding years, the team top after two matches never finished outside the top four.

Sorry Homer.

Weren’t Hull top after a couple of games once and then were relegated?

The point about generous fixtures. Yes, true. But we had plenty of those after lockdown to clinch our CL place and we failed.

I think it's easy to say that the fixtures were kind but it could have worked against us if we weren't as well prepared. West Brom started brightly and enthusiastically, and Burnley were very physical.

Unlike the restart last season, the players have started this season looking fit, sharp and motivated which has enabled us to pass these tests so convincingly.

Don’t spoil it for me. How far did they fall?
I have no idea. What year are we talking? I just went back through all their relegations from the second tier going back to 1979, and in none of those seasons were they anywhere near the top at New Year.

Oh I thought this was well known. Year we beat Palace in the playoffs. Looks like they were top in December not new year https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1995–96_Millwall_F.C._season

I just remember Palace fans on the tube when I travelled to Wembley singing “let‘s all laugh at Millwall”
