With Tielemans going, maybe this is a good time to reflect on the players we've been fortunate enough to watch over the last nine seasons.

If you were to pick the best team out of everyone we've had over this period, who would be in it? Assuming that they're all at their best. You could just go with the 15/16 team but there have been better individuals than some in that team.

This is mine.

Schmeichel
Ricardo Morgan(c) Maguire Chilwell
Tielemans Ndidi Kante
Mahrez Vardy Iheanacho

Best XI

Schmeichel
Ricardo Morgan Maguire Fuchs
Kante
Mahrez Cambiasso Tielemans Maddison
Vardy

It’s a complete toss up between:

Zieler

Hernandez / Benkovic / Vestergaard / Bertrand

Ghezzal / Inler / Silva / Kapustka

Slimani / Musa

Or

Ward

Dragovic / Bennett / Upson / Konchesky

Tete / Soumare / Praet / Diabate

Daka / Kramaric

Jebus, they're both shocking but I think the second side wins a terrible 1 nil game. Kramaric with a late toe poke.

Schmeichel,
Ricardo, Morgan, Huth, Chilwell,
Kante, Youri,
Mahrez, Maddison, Barnes
Vardy

I considered balance of the side rather than just players though - if I'm looking purely at individuals, Ndidi is probably over Barnes. And was a tough call between Chilwell and Fuchs.

First names in:

Kasper
Morgan
Vardy
Kante
Mahrez

Second batch:

Tielemans
Cambiasso
Maddison
Albrighton

Up for debate:

Huth
Maguire
Chilwell
Fofana
Barnes
Ricardo
Simpson
Ndidi
Drinkwater
Fuchs

I'm surprised to see Morgan in ahead of Huth on all the lists so far.

Don't get me wrong, I had him in my team too and I absolutely love Big Wes - but I think Huth was the better defender in that season, and don't think Morgan ever looked as good after Huth left (although age/injuries also started to play a part too).

And some people have actually put Maguire in their team. :100::119:

Given that Kramaric has scored 100 goals in 224 games in the Bundesliga since he left us, it's fair to say he's not a bad player. I think he just came in at a very difficult time and then couldn't get into the team the following season because Vardy and Okazaki worked so well.

I felt at the time that he wasn't given enough of an opportunity with us. Though things worked out pretty well for both parties!

And we understandably weren't going to change our shape to suit his style of play.

Mahrez, Tielemans, Kante, Albrighton
Vardy, Iheanacho

Harsh on Okazaki, but I really like Iheanacho.

When all were at their best:
Kasper
Ricardo Evans Huth Justin
Kante Tielmans Ndidi
Mahrez Vardy Maddison

Iheanacho makes it. Maddison doesn’t.

You have officially gone ****ing mental.

Also, any talk of Chilwell over Fuchs is the finest that wibble has to offer.
