Pre Match Leicester City v Manchester United

Ranieri's last two team selections have included nine of the team from last season. It genuinely feels like he's hung his future on that group to somehow rediscover their collective hunger and confidence.

Whatever the final line up, I'd be amazed if it is far from the last two matches. If it is, Ranieri is going against what was agreed following the Southampton match (evidenced by the interview with Shakespeare that I heard pre-Derby).

I think Ranieri wants to change the formation and personnel but the players either aren't able or willing to comply. That means it's all about the old guard. It's a complete gamble but it could be that he doesn't feel that he has any choice now.

I'm expecting this or one away from this: Schmeichel, Simpson, Morgan, Huth, Fuchs, Mahrez, Drinkwater, N'Didi, Albrighton, Okazaki, Vardy.

I said when watching the Derby game that it was heart-breaking. It's like seeing a great person with Alzheimer's. It's the same person but not the same person.

I'm someone that likes to turn on my team when the time is right and I've argued the pros and cons of that on here many times. I support them completely on a match day until I don't and then I'm pretty negative because I think supporting my club is about more than just cheering. I accept that I probably turn before most do. Tomorrow will be a major milestone for me. Probably the final chance that I'm prepared to give that great old team before I properly turn on them and call them out for gutlessly decimating a wonderful era.

You'll also probably be aware that I'm not shy about calling out a manager when I've got no belief in him. I called for the head of Sousa at half time in his first match with us. I called for NPs head well before anyone else appeared to. On the other hand, I never wanted Sven to go, or Holloway, or Levein even. I think I judge a manager fairly in the context of what they're working with. I have no compulsion against Ranieri whatsoever. I think he's desperately trying to do his best in the face of players that just aren't doing what he's asking them to. It's disgusting me and I want to support him. If that's at the expense of the players, then so be it.

I'm already last the point of supporting these players. I hold them completely responsible for where we are. I'll support the club for as long as I live, but that isn't the same as supporting any of the personnel.

At the moment my judgement is that the players are doing a number on the best manager this club has ever had. I'd almost prefer we went down than see this lot keep us up and be lauded as heroes. I want them gone.

Spot on chief.

musa has been aweful most games, hate to break it to you.

Very harsh.

He's not even had anything resembling a run of games to try and be remotely effective, unlike Vardy.

You can hardly look amazing coming on with 20 to go in this side.

The determination displayed when played centrally at Everton was more than I have seen from others this season, Vardy would not have made those goals in his current state.

Besides, I want to see a team that makes a statement to these players.

mahrez needs to be up front and shouldnt be defending it wastes his energy.

kasper
simpson wague huth chilwell
albrighton mendy ndidi fuchs
mahrez vardy

Mate, you can't seriously think that Fuchs is our best option on the left-wing?

Given Valencia's tendency to bomb down the wing, we should have Gray or Mahrez there to exploit the space on their right hand side. However, I have a strong feeling that Claudio will put any two of Albrighton/Fuchs/Chilwell on the left yet again to defend, with a game plan of "if they don't score then we maybe can nick a win", all of which will go south when we concede first.

FWIW, I think we may as well go for it and try and outscore them (sounds crazy I know), as we sure as hell will not be able to keep a clean sheet.

Only one version is based on form, of others and us.

form is temporary. That's why we play the games.

on season form Hull doesn't get anything from their last 2 games.

But Hull have had a shake up and play with a positive attitude since Silva came in.

At Citeh nothing has visibly changed. If reports are to be believed then our attitude has become more negative. The way we are playing would seem to back this up.

Agree that we should come out fighting. It worked in our best result of the season against Man City.

Without decrying it, I think our result against Man City was as much due to their arrogance as our positive attitude. I don't suspect for a moment that their richer (?) cousins will make the same mistake. That said, I'll be pleased if we can turn up with a similarly charged enthusiasm for the game.

I'll be chuffed to bits with a draw today. Anything more will have me dancing with the dog (no, that's not a metaphor)

Leave your dancing shoes in the cupboard and the dog in the kennel. We can't score goals and can't defend.

Big performance coming today

2-1 Musa and Gray

I hope you're right Lako.

I do think our redemption is in the hands of the new boys. Ranieri has to be brave, drop some family favourites and trust in his purchases. It might not provide instant results but I think we'd see an improvement in attitude and desire on the pitch. That, for me, would be a start.

Referee is Anthony Taylor who has only refereed us twice this season. The wins against Burnley and West Ham. Bodes well.

Blimey we really are desperate arent we

Dispite all the negativity on here, I'm looking forward to today's games.

I still believe, how many of these players have a relegation on their CV

How many had a Premier League title?
